- Seriously NIT Srinagar is the most beautiful campus in India. And the Sports opportunities here are also too good.Can you imagine playing football with sunset on a side and mountain view on the other side. Here it is true. You can enjoy the sunsets, moonrise, sunrise and you will fall in love with the natural beauty of the college. Infrastructure here too is very good and if snowfall is there the building looks damn so good the hut shapes just look a movie scene.
- Faculties are also very supportive and will provide you with all the study material needed to get good grades in exams. The classrooms here are very good and give you a feeling that you are studying in a top college in India.
Dislikes
- The strictness in college. Also, the End time of college. Some rules in the college feel useless. Buildings at the back are not well painted and maintained.
- Placement opportunities for core branches like EE and MEC are less compared to META and ECE. There are long electricity cutoffs at the time of maintenance. Mess food is just a headache to eat.
Remarks :
As we all know B. Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offered across 8 different specialisations including-CSE, EE, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT, and CHE. The course admission is made on the basis of the candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JoSSA counseling/CSAB counseling. The allotment is done on the basis of merit score in JEE main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the Candidate must Qualify JEE main and score above 75%marks in 12th. A score of 96-97 %ile is enough for an OBC or General student and 93-90%ile for SC/ST/PwD students.The main motive for enrolling in this program is to make a career out of Technology and learn some excellent skills in the Technology Field. I did Self-preparation for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced competitive exams. There is a huge amount of content on YouTube available for free which you can access and make your preparation to the next level. There is no GD/PI for admission into NITs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The teachers/faculty members on the campus are highly qualified with amazing teaching skills which help every student to grasp the concepts of the topic consistently. All the Professors are highly Qualified with Phd. Degree in their respective domain. Most of the teachers are very friendly and will help you in every field if it's your studies or any other problem. The exams here are held on time. there is no such huge delay in the date of exams. The schedule for the fest and exam are planned accordingly. After 1.5 months of the classes, the mid-terms are held of 26 marks and after 1.5 months from mid-terms the end-term exams are held for 50 marks and your practical exams will be held between mid-term and end-term exams. The course curriculum is like it is in all NITs and the institute will guide you to get the skills required for the placement. I chose the program because I was highly interested in technology and wanted to pursue my career in the field of tech.
Internships Opportunities :
No, I have not opted for any internships as I am not eligible for that as companies ask for grade points up to 4 semester But I am still in my 3rd semester. Surely I will go for the internship after my second year is completed.
Placement Experience :
Our Institue has its own Placement cell, and it helps the students to acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visited our campus, and provided jobs and internships in different fields. Some students of non-core branches too got internships and placements through these companies. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day about 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for the CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, IOCL, and BARC gave internship opportunities to the chemical branch too. The core branches like Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering perform well in placements as well but not the likes of ECE, CSE, and IT. Eligibility criteria are different for different companies and rules. Mostly you should have a CGPA above 7.5 to get an assured placement interview(After qualifying Aptitude).

Campus Life :
Campus life at NIT Srinagar is awesome. We have annually two fests at our campus. In summer, we got our Tech. fest -Techvaganza. There are many competitions, Expert Talks, and even Robo wars and Drone races. In Autumn, cultural fest- Rang-e-Chinar.There are many competitions included and also main stages performances and DJ nights. We have clubs in Every field from music to photography where one can showcase your extracurricular skills, also, have travel support, started by the students of our campus. The Infrastructure has its own Kashmiri Style. The buildings are well painted. The academic blocks are clean and include all types of laboratories for practical experience. The campus also includes its own Library where all the books are kept and accessible to all the students. Students can study anytime in the library between 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. Classrooms are well-cleaned and include smart boards and Air conditioners for summers and winters.

Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.

Placement Experience :
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro,infuses,bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.

I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Placement and college life at IIT Jammu
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.

quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
My University Life In The University of Kashmir.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.

There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.

Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
