Affordable but not the Best

- Infrastructure , sports facilities and grounds , canteen area these things are good and the only things that will make up college beside academics . In fact we have 3 canteens and one of them is more of like fancy cafe . The cleanliness in the canteen is good and the food taste and quality is also nice.
- Sports Facilities are good and worth paying the college fees if you are a sports enthusiast . you will be getting many opportunities in sports but you need to find correct people otherwise you will not be making it in the team. Cricket , Archery , Volleyball , Basketball these are some of the top sports played in the college and there are proper fields for cricket with net practice area and basketball courts are also well maintained.
Dislikes
- Faculty is not very good in terms of teaching . Of course they are PHD holders but teaching is a different thing . The teachers here are more concerned only about class tests and attendance they do cut marks for less attendance.
- There are no college fests held here so you won`t be getting a very memorable campus life . But the club heads do organize shows in the auditorium like the quiz shows hackathons and fashion , acting , singing shows are held oftenly but no outsiders are allowed only the college students are allowed to take part in these shows. Hackathons are open to everyone .
Remarks :
The factors that made me choose this college are: Fee Affordability Good Infrastructure Decent Placements Average ROI I did not have to face any interviews or group discussions but i got admission into this college by clearing the cutoff in WBJEE. My WBJEE Rank was 8775 which made me get a good branch like computer science and business system. WBJEE is only for the Government and some good Private colleges of West Bengal only.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because of my WBJEE Rank(8775) but in CSBS branch Computer Science is also mixed with some management skills . Every Semester includes a Management subject and a subject related to Technology and Values like how to behave to your seniors, how to make technology in ways they do not harm nature. The Faculty here is highly educated as most of them are PHDs and others are pursuing PHDs but speaking frankly they are not good in teaching except a very few . Only they care about the Assignment deadlines and a 75% attendance. In a semester you will be having a minimum of 6 subjects. Each subject will be having minimum: Class tests - 4 Mid Sem - 1 End Sem - 1 total exams per subject in a semester = 6 no. of subjects = 6 therefore total no. of exams in a semester = 36 Talking about the difficulty level of exams , class tests are pretty easy but the mid and end sem exams are moderately difficult so you will have to start studying for exams a month ago and solve prev. papers
Placement Experience :
Around 80-85% B.TECH students get placed with an average package of around 5-6 LPA. The topmost recruiters are TCS, Infotech, ITC, Infosys , Wipro. The highest package is offered by Microsoft in past years but it did not come for recruitment this year. Honestly if you have a CGP of around 7.5 or above you will get a decent placement of 4 lakhs easily which is a good start in your career.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees here is much affordable compared to the other private colleges. Admission Fee - 10000 Rs. Tuition Fee - 60500 Rs. Library Fee - 6000 Rs.(One Time) Caution Deposit(One Time Refundable) - 10000 Rs. Games and Sports Fee - 4000 Rs.(One Time) University Development Fee - 2200 Rs.(One Time) Total Fees per semester - 70500 Rs. There is also a category TFW(Tuition Fee Waiver) for students having annual family income of less than 3 lakhs. But TFW is only applicable to students who have a Domicile of West Bengal. For them the semester fees is reduced to 50% so there Fees per semester is 35000 Rs.
Campus Life :
No fest are conducted in this college. Library is open only during weekdays not on weekends. No ACs in classrooms only fans Sports facilities are good and grounds are well maintained Different clubs for all extra curricular opportunities are there for sports , vocals , hackathons.
Hostel Facilities :
We really don`t have a college hostel but there are many PGs and Flats(1 BHK , 2BHK) are available near the college at a walking distance. For Flats one can look in the RR Plot Area the rent there is minimal approx. 4000 per person but you won`t be getting facilities like Free Wifi and washing machine for washing clothes. You get these features in a PG for free so I would recommend PG for first year then you can decide to move in a flat . I live in one of the best PGs here(CHANDRAKONA NIVAS). Everything here is nice in terms of food, cleanliness, Free Wifi, washing machine, no time restrictions. But you need to pay a cost of somewhere around 9500 Rs. if you want these features.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
