Shri Shikshayatan College is a very known and popular college for girls and it's also one of Kolkata's best college for females and as we come from a strict family background it was very reliable for me to take admission here and also the facilities are well qualified here. The cut off for admission in this college 75% or more. There was no such interviews or tests for admission.
I choose this BCOM honours degree because I come from a commerce background (commerce was the main stream in 11th and 12th standard). Also my main Focus was on finance and accounting so it's the best for it. Shri Shikshayatan's faculties are greattt, they are well behaved and punctual with there work.
No I haven't but college do provides companies for intership process. For example recently people were selected for intership in different companies like pantaloons, trends ets for sales head, Human resource etc
Campus recruitment is available in our college but matter of fact is there shouldn't be any supplementary paper and also there should be above 7.5 cgpa then only you are eligible for recruitment. The company's our college offer is Deloitte,TCS, Industrial Bank,PWC and many more and the average package they provide yearly is approx 10-12 lakhs.
It's a 4 years BCOM course and each semester costs 30000 approx and college provides multiple scholarship schemes. Total fees for this course is 240000. Other course have other fees some are less and some are higher than this for example JMC costs 35000 per semester and BBA 32000 per semester
The campus of Shri Shikshayatan is huge it has a basketball court, a swimming pool,a parade court,a common room for all the students to chill,a canteen to fill your hunger and also classrooms are quite big and comfortable benches, all the rooms have AC. Recently Shri Shikshayatan conducted Udaan fest in October which is a mega fest as all the college of Kolkata was invited and also we got a dandiya night that day.
No I don't stay in hostel or PG. I daily travel from my own home to the college and it mostly take 1 and half an hour and mostly the PGs and hostels nearby are affordable enough and also not very much away from college
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
