- We get oppertunity to study from one of the best faculty of India which are expert in their fields and they are very humble
Dislikes
- Mess is the only irritating thing about this college veg food is unediblea and nong veg is slightly on the better side Non veg food is served only in dinner and 4 times a week And no seperate messs for vwg and non veg , only different timings
- As kashmir being politically and socially fragile ,sometimes there are strikes outsides which may enter into college ,then Security of student increases and atudies are affected due to holidays made due to strikes
Remarks :
The admission in this college is done on the basis of JEE scorecard of the students followed by JOSAA and CSAB counselling I choose this college Since it is the top technical institute of kashmir valley Bad aspects of this college is lack of transportation to srinagar by other states Hence it takes to reach college in winters due to snow on roads and train also got delayed due to snow and chilly winters And good aspects are high class laboratory, well qualified professors and green lush campus ,decent sport facility And very close to nature and beautiful valleys of kashmir By keeping these in mind ,I choose this college to pursue my Bachelors And I would recommend students to study here .
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose my course i.e, Chemical Engineering because of my keen interest into it's core subject as fluid mechanics,plant design and economics,etc. This institute haves the best faculty Each professor has masters and ph.D degree from reowned institutes as IIT's , NIT's and various foreign university , Faculty has the best knowledge around their subjects and area of research . The institute strictly adheres to academic calanders , Syllabus is completed before the exam And the term exam (mid and end ) are conducted on their time as mentioned in academic calander And we don't have to wait too much for our semester result , they are also declared on time. While talking about the difficulty level of exam they are moderate , Most of the questions are from notes and assignment given by the respective faculty. So by being a regular college going student we can acheive a good cgpa score
Internships Opportunities :
Since , I'm in the second semester So I have not grabed any internship till now But based on my senior's experience Internship can be easily grabed from this institute at good companies , IIT's and NIT's for industry ready skills ,experience and research respectively. Around 97% students grabs internship And there is not much load of work on interns hired .
Placement Experience :
For a final year student to be eligible for placements he/she should have 6.5 above cgpa and no active backlogs Around of 150 + companies wouls viait this NIT this year ,Major are Aditya birla aakash , shree chaitanya , ashok leyland,etc. Till now lowest package is of 6 lpa and higheat of 32 lpa for a cse student Profiles as web developer ,assistant manager ,executive assistant ,sales management,etc. roles were offered to the students . At the end of placements around 70% students are able to grab placements My future plans are get into a core chemical company and gain knowledge about industry for around 2 years and then I'll open a startup company based on refining . If i am unable to grab placement from college , then i would start prepairing for GATE Exam and during this I will also try to do internship at a company , to manage my expenses .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Total tution fees is around 10,27,500 INR , but it may vary around every year , Total 62,000 is our tution fees per semester which is the major part of our fees hostel fees is around 8,000 per semester and mess fees is 20,000 , Although during the time of admission you have to pay 3-4 thousand extra on hostel and mess which includes their one time registration fees , In 2024 mess registration fees was 100 and for hostel is 2000 Others fee as internet , lab , developmemt ,placement , medical are somewhere between 700-1500 And security deposit is around 12,000 which we be given at the end of our degree program . For fee wavier , there is no tution fee for sc, st students and students whose family's annual income is less than 1 lakh But they have to pay hostel , mess and other fees which is around 3,27,500 for 4 years . And 2/3 of tution fees is wavied for those students whose family income is between 1 to 5 lakh And payement of all the fees need to be done online channels
Campus Life :
Techvaganza is held in First week of October which is the biggest technical fest of kashmir valley , it'a cultural programs are really enjoyable. Library has around 1,00,000 of books , journals and reserach papers by national and foreign authors for Bachelors , Masters and doctrate program , a wi-fi with decent speed , silent environment to study along with air conditioners Lecture halls have a smart board for faculty to deliever their lectures along with projector available and sometime teacher also bring their 3-D models for better visualization In the common hall area ,there are seperate clubs like debate, music ,drama,dance Only these four clubs are in our college And debates around the club usually held in class rooms after classes are over For sports there are basketball,volleyball,badminton,tennis court for these sports and A decent cricket pitch and a football ground surrounded by a 400 meter running track Social group usually not formed ,some formed but not expanded
Hostel Facilities :
Students whose home is 25 km. away from college are automatically eligible for hostel Chenab and Indus are old hostel having around 100 and 120 rooms respectively , Currently first and third year students live in them respectively And second year atudents live in Mansaar and Manasbal hostel each having 40 rooms And upto third year each rooms has 5 students in it In final year , if we have 7 cgpa or above and no active backlogs Jhelum hostel will be alloted If not then tawi hostel will be alloted Whereas Jhelum extension has both second and final year students living with occupancy of 6 students Infrastructurevof college is in old kashmiri traditional style ,which has it's own beauty and memories to make. But on the other hand mess food is not much edible at all. They have varieties of food veg and non veg both but none of them have good taste at all

Placement Experience :
Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.

Placement Experience :
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro,infuses,bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.

I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Placement and college life at IIT Jammu
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.

quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
My University Life In The University of Kashmir.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.

Placement Experience :
There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.

Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
