- In whole campus only Administrative building is good because its newly build, other infrastructures are very old
Dislikes
- Almost every other infrastructure, it is just too old and outdated
- The computer labs are so old, the computers have 4gb ram in 2025 and very outdated specifications it cannont even run simple programs
Remarks :
I choose this college because it was near Kolkata and I got admission through defence quota in this college and i didn't had other options... Usually students get admission in this college through WBJEE and only west begal domicile can get into it. This college is century old, established in 1908 as college of textile technology, now over the century it has converted into an engineering college
Course Curriculum Overview :
The college is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Of Technology (previously known as West Bengal University Of Technology) and follows MAKAUT's curriculum and syllabus. This College is not Autonomous. The faculties are well qualified and possess PHD, but they don't have full control over there respective departments because they have to follow MAKAUT's rules and regulations. There are 4 exams and 2 practical exams in 1 semester (CA1, CA2, CA3, CA4, PCA1, PCA2) CA1 and CA2 are based on PPTs and Presentations, totally depends upon faculties. CA3 is theory exam also conducted by faculties itself but CA4 is conducted by university in online mode in college computers and faculties don't have any control over CA4 marks, similarly PCA1 is conducted by college but PCA2 is conducted in presence of external invigilator by the university
Internships Opportunities :
Internship on campus are only provided to APM & TT branch in textile based comapnies CSE & IT students need to get internship on thier own usually the stipend is between rs 5000 to rs 30000 based on companies and roles
Placement Experience :
The placement for APM & TT branch is good but for CSE & IT branch is below average, internship for APM & TT are offered through campus but not for CSE & IT, usually textlite, banking and service based companies comes for campus placemnets.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for GCETTS varies by stream, for CSE & APM - Rs. 11,400 for 1st semester followed by Rs. 6000 per semester for the rest of the course for TT - Rs. 7900 for 1st semester followed by Rs. 3000 per semester for the rest of the course for IT - Rs. 18400 for 1st semester followed by Rs. 12000 per semester for the rest of the course And there is Rs. 0 fees for students belonging to TWF category through WBJEEE Top 5 students of TT(Textile Technology) by SGPA get 100% scholarship in next semester Students can apply for other goverment scholarship by maintaining 6.5 GPA
Campus Life :
Campus is very small about 5 Acres, and campus life is not good students just come to campus to attend classes nothing more, campus is not beautiful and many students don't like the campus, infrastructre is so bad and old. Only during culutural and tech fest seniors decorate the campus but still its not good as other college's campus
Hostel Facilities :
1st Year students don't get hostels. But the hostel infrastructure is okish, not too good and not too bad. hostel has 3 student capacity rooms and only boys get hostels, no hostel for girls, also there is no gym in college hostel hostel fee is 3rs/day

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
