- The very introverted and self centred crowd
- The confined space of our campus and lack of some sports facilities
Remarks :
There were multiple factors which made me choose this college, they are- 1) The results in IIT Jam and ISI Mstat are exceptional with AIR 1 and other single and double digit rank 2) NIRF ranking of 5 proved the mettle of this college 3) Reviews from my seniors and people studying there 4) Kolkata as a city fascinated me a lot so I wanted to explore it The selection was completey merit based and did not have any group discussions and interview
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty here is amazing with plenty experience even in meritorious universities like Calcutta University. Some proffersors here are even graduates from ISI and other recognized institutes. The course is designed in a very structured form somewhere covering all the topics of IIT JAm. The syllabus is sufficient to provide the required understanding of the subject and somewhere even more than that
Internships Opportunities :
I have not opted for any internship as of now but companies do come to hire interns for department like consulting, marketting, finance, data analysis etc. Companies like EY,Zomato are some names. Majorly companies here are focussed to hire students from finance background.
Placement Experience :
The college provide decent internship and placement opportunities to the students. Companies like TCS,EY ,McKinsey ,Meesho ,Zomato etc are some of those companies who come to our college for hiring. The average placement package offered here is 8 lakh.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The average tuition fee yearly of my course is 60k. If you perform good in academic in your starting years then you can also get a scholarship from the college covering your whole tuition fee. There is also a La Font scholarship of Rs 500 which is given to a larger number of students comparitively. The fees is to not increasing rather it's constant for my years. The complete fee of my course will be 60000X4 years=2.4 lakhs
Campus Life :
The campus is pretty small accomodating both the collegiate school and the college. Due to this, the field is shared by both the institutes making the environment very congested. The campus life is quite suffocating and constricted however one can adapt within a year or two. Social life here is amazing, one can face some cultural shift being a non bengali but one will adapt to the sweetness of bengal. The college provides manifold clubs and socities like theatre, music, art, entrepreneurship ,consulting, sports etc. where one can focus on extra curriculars apart from academics.
Hostel Facilities :
If I were to stay in hostel then I would have applied on the website to book a room, the mess provide both veg and non veg food . The only problem is that there is no air conditioning provided. I would have opted for a PG nearPark street or Bhawanipr area.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
