- I love the little corners in the college, the huge ground and the gymnasium area.
- The faculty is great. There a few teachers that are strict but they are always there to support a student in need.
Dislikes
- The evening department timing. They give very less break time of 30mins which isnt enough.
- The washrooms in each floor. Very little space and cramped plus no western toilet.
Remarks :
I chose this college purely because of its brand name and heritage and faculty standard. No written test was conducted during admission. It was solely based on your merit of class 12th and 10th marks with maths being mandatory subject.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this bCom course because i come from a commerce background and so studying BCom after that gives one a broader scope to explore further in this field. Also, whatever i have studied in my +2 level, was what was taught in college too but on a more difficult level which did help me understand the subject better.
Internships Opportunities :
The college’s placement department provides a lot of internship opportunities as well. I did not avail of these but my friends did and they said the experience was great. Also the college has a compulsory thing where a student needs to do an offline internship of atleast 6 weeks in order to get the graduation certificate
Placement Experience :
Placement opportunity is great in st xaviers college. It is what its renowned for. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, PWC come for placements as well as McKinsey and other Stock Companies like FutureFirst also come with good packages ranging from 5-14 lakhs per annum. Other companies that also come include Banks like ICICI, Federal Bank, wells fargo with good package from 4-6lpa. Theres also Accenture, Nestasia, Meesho, wipro, cognizant.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the evening department, the total fees for bcom hons was approx 4lakhs. Fees were paid on a quarterly basis with each quarter fees being around 35000-40000 max. Tuition fee is around 8000rs, Additional fee is around 13500rs, Development fee is again around 8000rs. No caution deposit is taken during admission. However if you dont have any supply/ arrear in any year, you get a scholarship of 500rs for each year after you graduate. All the above fee structure varies with each year and the specialisation you have chosen, for example, if you opt for a practical subject, your fee will be higher.
Campus Life :
Campus life is great, especially if youre in the day department. There are a lot of programs going on throughout the year, held by various departments, however, the main fest is Xavotsav which is held every year in February for 3 days. But before that in January is held the Bonfire Night, where all the students gather together around the bonfire and sing along.
Hostel Facilities :
No hostel is provided by the college. Outstation students usually either rent a flat or stay as a paying guest near the college area. Since i am from the same city of kolkata so i didnt need to avail the hostel facility

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
