Likes
- The college is the first engineering college of Northeast and one of best engineering college of Assam apart from IIT and NIT.
- The faculty are nice and helpful and the teaching of the faculty are also nice.
Dislikes
- The campus is open campus and the infrastructure is little old.
- The campus is open so many people also live in the campus area and many vehicles also go from the college road.
Remarks :
If you want to get seat in this college then their is an exam called CEE ( Combined Entrance Exam) but you have to be the resident of Assam only other states student can't apply. After securing a good rank in the exam then their is a councelling process in which you have to choose college and branch, according to your preference you can get seat. The CEE exam is of 480 marks and if you get under 1000 rank then you can get into the college but for core branch if you have to get under 800 rank ( for general category).
Course Curriculum Overview :
I personally this course because this is core branch and the placement of this particular branch is also nice comparatively to other branch. The faculty are nice and all the faculty have done PhD in their specific field. The teaching of the faculty are nice and all the faculty are helpful. The examination are semester wise and the difficulty level of the examination are moderated. And between each semester their is two test exam which is taken by the respective faculty.
Internships Opportunities :
I have not opted any internship as I am in the 1st year. Their are many internship offered by many companies in the 3rd and the 4th year. But for placement you have to do some projects by your own apart from the project that the college give then only you can get placement from the college.
Placement Experience :
Their is placement in our college and many companies come for placement like NRL, ONGC and many other PSUs and private companies also. This year the highest package is offered by NRL which is 24 lpa and 8 students got of chemical engineering. The average package is about 7 lpa. My plan is to get placement after degree and if I not get sufficient package then I will go for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fees during the addmission is about 30000 in which all the tuition fees, registration fees, lab fees included and another 1500 is to be paid during semester registration and 3900 exam fees( fest fees included) and if you take hostel then their is monthly mess fees which is approximately 3000 per month. And many scholarship are their in which students can apply accordingly to their eligibility criteria.
Campus Life :
The life in campus is nice but the campus is open campus. The infrastructure is nice but little old. The name of our fest is Pyrokynesis which conducted in the month of February every year and the fest is awesome. Their are many books in the library for the semester exam and also other books for self development. Their are many sports like cricket, football, tennis, table tennis basketball etc are their and every year our college organize college week in which every hostel participate in which all the sports are played and according to the winner hostel get points. Many clubs are their like jamming club, sovic club etc. Their is website our college which is aec.ac.in
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I have opted hostel. The mess food is nice. Each hostel have their own mess. Their is a separate hostel for 1st year student. All the hostel are nice and well maintained. And the menu of the mess food is depend on hostel, in my hostel non veg is given in dinner ( for vegetarian students veg is also available)with rice and dal and in lunch rice, dal and sabji and in breakfast puri sabji/ roti sabji/ fried rice/ suji halwa. If you want PG or rented room then their is available near the college itself.

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs
Placement Experience :
There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

Placement Experience :
The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
