I chose this college because it has good placement records and is cheap then many Engineering colleges. Here students get admission by either giving WBJEE or JEE mains exam or having above 80% in 12th and 10th both.
I chose this particular course because i had a keen interest in programming since my 12th class. Our most of the teachers are highly qualified and teaches through projectors and also uses white board. Term examinations are held twice a month. There are total 2 term exams per semester (including theory and practical papers). And the difficulty level is easy to moderate and sometimes hard.
I have not done any internships from college yet. I have done virtual internships from linkedin where I have to complete tasks given by them and got a certificate for that. Our college offers internships from multinational companies where we can apply and can get selected if we are good enough for it and can also get stipend.
Many companies come for recruitment in the college, such as TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Mindtree and many more. And internship opportunities are also given from the college. The eligibility criteria for placement is to get above atleast 8 sgpa per semester. The highest package is 72LPA and lowest is 3.5LPA. Percentage of students got placed this year is 70%.
When i joined UEM, the fees per sem is 75000. But now UEMK is changed to IEM, Newtown and therefore the fee structure has now changed for the students joined since 2023. Now it is 95000 per sem and 190000 per year. But we are still paying 75000 as we are the last batch of UEMK and fee structure is equal for students belonging to any category. And there are scholarships for students who scored above 90% in 12th and has a low family income.
There are two fest conducted. One is URECKON, the tech fest and other one is ECSTACIA, the cultural fest. Ureckon is conducted in February and Ecstasia in March. But the fest are very small and very low budget. There are all types of books available in the college library. Classrooms has sufficient lights and fan. Sports ground is there in the campus but it is very very small . Extracurricular activities are there in the college. We have three clubs in the college, "Symphony", the musical club, "Rhythmic Syndrome", the dance club and "Theatrix", the drama club and there are other sports clubs and tech clubs.
I was in hostel for 2 years. The hostel fees was 96000 per then but now it is increased to 1,08,000 per year including food, wifi, electricity and the rooms are very clean and nice. But the food quality is ok and the in time was 7 pm and if one has to go out for outing then parent's permission is needed .
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
