Good aspect is that you can get admission easily like if you want to switch your branch from the btech in non cs branch to mtech in cs related branch you can get good score and easily get admitted here. But the bad aspect is that jalandhar is not very developed city plus their is very less exposure plus the infrastructure of the college is not upto the mark. I got admitted to this college because it was in my hometown and to get into this college I gave their internal exam organised in the campus.
I did my btech in electronics and to be honest I wanted to switch into Artificial Intelligence branch hence decided to join this course. Plus this college is in my hometown soo it's easy to commute daily about academics I feel students have to do major of the things by their own , no spoon feeding will be provided for placements either. You can't compare the placements of their BTech course with mtech course. Companies won't come frequently hardly 10 companies overall will come for AI role. That too if your batch is lucky.
Yes I have opted for offcampus internship . Hardly 4-5 companies came oncampus for internship for Mtech AI branch. Highest stipend offered was 80k while lowest was 35k, companies do come but they even go without hiring even a single candidate.
Mostly the eligibility criteria is 7 cgpa. Recruiters like intel, samsung, wabtech , seimens, these companies have came for internship till now. I am looking forward to more companies and joining corporate in future. Highest package would be around 26 lpa while lowest would be around 5 lpa
In first semester we paid 82000 tution fee , then in 2nd semester we have 77000, then in 3rd we paid 77000, and in 4th semester also we are going to pay 77000. There are two mediums to enter for mtech in NIT Jalandhar, the first medium is through GATE exam where you'll get scholarship of 12,500 per month from government and the second medium is through the internal exam of college which is a self sponsored program . And this was all about general category students. About other categories there is around 50% discount to them I guess.
Life at campus is not that good, it's a small campus located in an isolated place , no city life to enjoybecause it's far away from the city About social life it depends on how open you're to socialize with others. There's a fest called UTKANSH organised annually that's considered as the biggest fest of the college .
I am day scholar so don't have information regarding it exactly. But as far as I know through my friends the hostels are decent depending on the hostel you get. Few hostels provide decent food in the mess while few don't.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
