- Infrastructure of the college is great, the library the classrooms are very well equipped.
- Society culture in the college is great. It helps in making Junior Senior bond
Dislikes
- In-time of hostel is 8:30 PM which I think can be relaxed a bit
- The exams are sometimes quite tough so maybe the difficulty can be lowered a bit
Remarks :
Thapar institute of engineering is one the best private colleges in India. I was offered Computer Science here, so I considered it a good option to pursue my Bachelor of Engineering degree. The admission process was smooth. I took admission on the basis of JEE although one get admission on the basis of Boards also. The cutoff for Computer Engineering was 94 percentile. There were no GD/ PI rounds.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have had interest in Computer Science since my 9th class so I decided to pursue it here. Most of the senior faculty here have PhD from IIT. There are Mid sem and End sem exam in one semester. Fee is hiked by 10% every year. There are various scholarships that can be availed on CGPA from second year onwards.
Internships Opportunities :
I am currently in First year so I have not opted for any internship. Various companies come on-campus to offer internship like JPMC, Accenture, Barclays etc. Stipend is around 60-70k as far as I know of.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for Good companies goes to around 8.5 CGPA. Companies like JPMC come for on-campus placement. I am not sure of the average package but for Computer Science it is around 14 LPA. Companies also come to offer on-campus internship.
Campus Life :
Social life in campus is good. There are various societies which helps in great junior senior interaction. Various fests, competitions and events are organised time to time which helps in socialising and making friends all around the campus.

if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

Internships Opportunities :
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

Placement Experience :
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
