- I like the infrastructure and the behaviour of our professors ap much. They are very friendly and helpful.
- I like the hostel and beautiful environment of Narendrapur. Here the scope of group study is one of the best highlights.
Dislikes
- The food given here is not up to the mark and could be much better.
- I don't like the system of gate pass. One have to take gate pass to get out of the campus. So, one can't go out more than once a day.
Remarks :
The college is a very good and 19th best ranked college in India. I had a mind set to study in Statistics Honours and for that this was one of the best option. Also the admission process is very smooth. An admission test is taken in offline mode on the college and from that 15 students are selected in our department.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I was a student of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Narendrapur, I was fully intended to study on our college. I studied in higher secondary on the course - (Eco-Stat-Math). And being a student of that stream I dreamt of studying with Statistics. The professors and faculty staff and teachers are very helpful and friendly. There are 2 semesters in an academic year. And I think the fees taken here are quite decent.
Placement Experience :
No placements are offered from our department after the bachelors. There's also no scope of Master's degree in Statistics in our College. But our faculty prepare students for all exams and make the students brilliant to get admitted in reputed colleges. Our students score much higher marks and obtain best AIR in JAM. Previous year the 1st boy in JAM was from our college.
Campus Life :
I have opted hostel as it is fully residential college. I was also used to in a residential structure from my school days . The hostels are quite good but the food could have been better. An departmental fest named Inferencia takes place in April. A huge amount of books and journals are kept in the library to issue and for reading purposes. Everyday there a time for playing. Sports are also held here.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
