Brief about GMGC
Likes
- The faculty is extremely good and knowledgeable. They are well qualified, experienced and approachable.
- The college facilities such as the library and the various seminars conducted is a great way of learning. The opportunity to learn different foreign languages are also provided.
Dislikes
- The college is set up in a comparatively smaller area and therefore there is a problem of space. The corridors aren't too wide and the classrooms are usually packed.
- There are no college fests since the college mostly focuses on academics.
Remarks :
Gokhale has one of the oldest and arguably the best Psychology department in the city. The faculty is extremely knowledgeable and the department has all kinds of materials required for practicals. Although there is not much focus on college fests but they make up for it with their brilliant academics facilities. The selection into the college is based on merit, that is the score of 12th board exam. There are no group discussions or interviews as such. The application procedure is completely online and the college administration too is quite helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty is extremely knowledgeable and well qualified. The associate professors have a doctorate degree and the assistant professors have completed either MPhil or B.Ed. Some of the assistant professors are also pursuing their PhD currently. The teaching method comprises of both lectures and ppt presentations. Term exams are quite timely but the difficulty level is quite high so the students need to be well prepared. The fees per semester is around 8k and the fee hike isn't that common. There are goverment scholarships available which are informed by the college in time.
Campus Life :
There usually isn't any college fest but there are annual cultural programme which is conducted usually in the month of March. The library is excellent and is filled with thousands of books which includes even some of the firsthand copies. There are projectors in many classrooms for ppt presentation. Sports is done once a year usually in the month of December. Apart from this there are other extracurricular activities like learning different foreign languages, gym facilities, NSS programmes, Cultural and Literary Clubs. The English department even runs an online magazine. The canteen menu is quite varied and very affordable too. The college doesn't offer any hostel facilities but many PGs are available in the locality.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
