The process of getting a seat in the college was easy we could either apply through our board marks or the JEE percentile we got. The rest of the details were portrayed on the official website of the Thapar Institute
I would say the course is a wholesome experience of all the branches(for 1st year) making students learn the concepts of all the diverse fields. All the Faculty members all very knowledgeable and well experienced too. The faculties that I have been taught with are all very good and I enjoyed learning with them. The frequency of the examination is 2 in a semester of 6 months. I won't say the exams are very tough but moderately fine. Talking about the scholarships, our college offers scholarships based on both Merit and financial aid.
JP Morgan, Black Rock, etc are some of the companies I know that visit the campus quite frequently for the internship rounds and even offer the students PPOs (Pre Placement Offers). Nearly the end of the 2nd year, the internship opportunities are heard about.
The most talked about thing about any college across the country is the placements, ROI, and internships. As far as I know, our average package is nearly around 12 LPA and several of the companies visit every year to hire students full-time based on their possessed skill set and knowledge.
Life is campus is very good and chill, Saturnalian is the main cultural fest held every year in Oct/Nov it is really fun to take part in! We have a good enough library having all the collections of books from various departments, Sports on the other hand is a sector that is well maintained, almost all the sports activities are available within the premises of our campus. Several societies/Clubs are there for the holistic development of an individual. Hostel facilities for both boys and girls are there within the campus. The food is good enough to eat and the menu too changes to not make the students get bored and eat the same thing frequently.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
