My chosen program, B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology required a minimum average of 55% in the higher secondary exams (state, central, or equivalent). There was no separate admission test and that applies for all the other subjects as well. Application details and forms were conveniently available online through the college's official website. Impressively, the entire admission process was free of charge. Application deadlines and other information were also displayed on the college's online notice board, accessible from the official college website. Applicants with reservations benefitted from a lower minimum mark requirement. Their selection status can be found in designated sections on the admission list. For improvement, I would suggest streamlining the process to expedite admissions.
I chose my course because I have a genuine interest in the subject and it offers a promising career that suits me. Also, it is the only college that offers this subject. No other colleges in the area offer this subject. The faculty in the college is also very much qualified for their job. All the teaching staff meets the minimum qualification. In my department, the professors are all highly qualified, including some of them having PhDs in the field. Every one of them has a unique teaching style. It does take some time to get used to but once one gets used to it, it gets easier to follow along and keep the pace. All the exams or tests conducted have flexible dates as they're not entirely controlled by the college. The tests do not have very high difficulty. Anyone who studies even a little can pass the tests. The cost to study isn't that high considering the facilities. The education provided does justify the cost. The college does provide fee concessions to students in need.
Internship opportunities are available but not for every subject. If a student wants to do an internship, it would be better for them to try for it by themselves. Depending entirely on the college for this purpose would not be the smartest move.
The students become eligible for campus placements in the last year of their respective courses. The companies visiting our college have names such as Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, IBM, Royal Research, Amazon, and many more. The total offers made goes up to near about 600. The highest offer in the year 2023 was 3lpa and the average offer went up to 1.98lpa Nearly 70% of the applying students got their placements. My plan after getting the degree is to pursue even higher education in the same field or any other related field.
The annual fest or the freshers party is organized every year after the admission process is over and it is a lively atmosphere to enjoy with friends. Different artists are invited each year to make the celebration worth attending. And other than that, usual programs and celebrations get organized all year round. The central library is one of the best features of the college and it includes every book a student can need. The library is big and has books for all the departments and subjects that can cater to every student. Classrooms are very generic with proper labs for respective subjects. There are many types of sports the students can take part in and other extracurricular activities like skill development and NCC.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
