- THE PRINCIPAL IS VERY STRICT AND ALWAYS STANDS BESIDE THE STUDENTS.
Dislikes
- The Student's Union Group often forces students to join their group so that they can take the students to political rallies conducted by the ruling party of the West Bengal government
- The faculties are never able to complete the syllabus within the stipulated time before the university semesters for which the students needs to take alternate tuition classes for being able to complete their syllabus.
Remarks :
Heramba Chandra College has been famously know for the Commerce faculties they provide. The college is situated at the heart of South Kolkata, i.e., Golpark Area. Full of experienced and good teachers who are friendly for most of the time with the students. The cutoff is approximately 85 percent for taking admission here. No GD/PI round is conducted for the admission purpose. Students need to apply for admission through the college portal. The reason for choosing this college is that, its a very famous college known for its reputation of providing quality education in the field of commerce.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since I have completed my 12th with commerce background, I decided to pursue undergraduation in finance. The most of the faculties are highly qualified. While teaching, the teachers often apply the most convenient methods for making the students understand the concepts of different topics. Though the college teacher are good enough, they do not complete the syllabus of the semesters given by the university. It is recommended that a student should take a tuition class separately. No class test is conducted by the teachers. The college conducts Internal assessment before every semester. The difficulty level of the assessment is moderate. With every year the yearly fees generally gets increased. Students who have completed their 10th standard from West Bengal board can apply for 'Swami Vivekananda Scholarship' program which provides a financial assistance for a sum of 12000 per year.
Internships Opportunities :
The college did not provided with any internship program. However if a student wishes to join internships while persuing undergraduation, he/she may search in LinkedIn for internship opportunities, during my time in the college I have not got any internship offer from the college.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for getting Placement is that the student needs to be in the final year without any supple in the previous years. During 2023 Airtel, TCS and ICICI Bank came for offering job to the students. Since I have decided to pursue with CA after my graduation I didn't participated in the placement program. The Average and highest package ranges from 60000-200000 depending upon what's the company is willing to offer you. BUT ITS NOT RECOMMENDED TO SIT IDLE WAIT FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT SINCE ITS A GOVERNMENT SPONSORED COLLEGE PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES IS NOT GIVEN TO THE STUDENTS EVERY SINGLE YEAR. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE STUDENT MUST AFTER COMPLETING GRADUATION SEARCH FOR A JOB BY HIS OWN.
Campus Life :
Two fest were conducted during the year, i.e., HEMFLUENCE and AURA. AURA - College Students take part in performing programs HEMFLUENCE - Renowned Artists performs the show. The date of the fest changes year to year. Plenty of books available in the two library of the college but the students need to apply for a library card first. The students are also liable to a penalty incase they fail to resubmit the books taken from the library within the stipulated time given by the librarian. Sports activities takes place but for that, the intersted candidate need to contact with the head of the College's Student Union. There is a common room where the students can spend time with their friends and seniors as well, but for that they need to get well connected with the student's union group which is associated with a political party. So there is only a single social group that is the College Students Union Group. I world suggest not to join such group rather focus on your studies.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
