Likes
- Faculties who is very friendly and cool, with whom you can share the thoughts with and ask for help anytime, het motivated and help to take you out of your comfort zone and moulds you for the Industry.
- I'll always talk about the friends I made here which made my college more memorable and honestly the people here becomes different and builds their standards to another level. People from different parts of the country gets united and lives together and creates a bind which don't breaks easily.
Dislikes
- The campus used to have a smoky s Chamber where as being in good college campus the smoky shouldn't be there. It attracts the students to get in bad influence and adapt the bad habits.
- Talking about the curriculum where you have to study alot, and the subject which are non core which has nothing related and nothing to do with those we have to learn.
Remarks :
Firstly, as I was a hotel passionate student I made up my mind to join IHM Kolkata as I'm from the same city. I had to face an MCQ text in which there were multiple field questions like mathematics, history, geography, general awareness, Logical reasoning or aptitude, etc. Then as I get the result and my college, I'll have to go through with paperwork and physical verification and induction. The exam is affiliated with NCHMCT-JEE, and the cut-off is differentiated amongst different categories of students and accordingly, they have to rank to get enrolled in their desired college. Talking about good aspects, college has a very good reputation in the city, and being a central government and having a good campus and facilities which they provide is something which any student can ask for. College with all the classes and separate practical labs for different classes.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I mentioned I'm a hotelier passionate student, and having a family background in the same field, there is no doubt of choosing the hotel industry as a career. About college faculties if I say, the faculties are so supportive and helpful, in my personal experience they helped me to get in shape and sharp for the same. Their teaching methods are all advanced in which theory and practicals are all added. Apart from that they give some assignments so we can understand things more easily. Most of the faculties are masters in their respective fields and have a very good hotel experience before joining the teaching field. About term exams, the exams are mid-sems and term-end exams each semester, where you have to attempt all the exams to get a pass in the semester. The overall cost of study could be around 4 lacks where the semester fees are included along with tuition fees. And apart from you have to pay fees for your university separately to which your college is affiliated.
Internships Opportunities :
In college, only the companies come for the internship programs where we have to go through some rounds of interviews from where they filter the students and select the best for their company or hotels. Companies like Taj, Oberoi, ITC, Marriott, and Park, and stipend varies company to company. Talking about the roles the students are named Industrial Exposure Trainees where they come to learn and they get from specific roles and responsibilities to play. Such as in restaurants you have a responsibility to serve the food, clearance, check with the guests if they require anything, go the things on time, and many more.
Placement Experience :
If genuinely depends on your performance, college is doing their best to get the companies for job opportunities and doing anything for all the students to get jobs in their hands at the end of college life. Criteria for placement is that you have to choose a specific department in which you think you can grow, having a BSC H&HA degree. Companies like Oberoi, Taj, ITC, Marriott, and many more companies visit every year to recruit students for their organizations and with the good package that a fresher should get. The average package could be like 3LPA or a maximum of 7LPA. Around 90% of students get conformed placed to companies as of their hard work and focus. My plans as I'm leaving the college are to go hotels if TAJ as I'm a hotelier and from the background and specifically in food and beverage department.
Campus Life :
College life is something which a student has the desire and expectations of how it should be, in college, there are multiple events taking place throughout the year as well talk about Gourmet Nite which is a grand event of IHM KOLKATA where we prepare cuisines from different countries and follow their culture as a part of the theme.it is takes place in January or February, and there are many other events such as Diwali, Christmas etc. Talking abt the library where you'll get all the books related to the curriculum and specialty books for specific departments. Talking about the sports every year a sports meet takes place where different sports are being played such as football, cricket, badminton and carrom and many more. And for these things, we have different clubs for different things to conduct like we have cultural, horticulture, polymath, sports, and tourism. As I'm a day scholar I'm not sure about the hostel facilities but the food as we get meal during college hour.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
