Admission was through class 12 board percentage since 2021 was a covid affected year. The quality of education, faculty, facilities, infrastructure, placement statistics, alumni network and brand value were some of the factors that made me choose this college. However the huge intake of the students in courses is something that concerned me a lot while taking admission.
I feel the course curriculum is somewhat similar to what is followed in other colleges and I'm pretty satisfied with the kind of electives offered along with a few subjects related to entrepreneurship, professional communication etc. Majority of the faculty teaching us are PHDs. The faculty is cooperative most of the times barring a few teachers and they are readily available for guiding the students and helping to resolve their issues. There are multiple merit, merit cum means, government sponsored and national scholarship schemes prevalent in our college. The midsems, endsems and subject evaluations were always held according to a time table and were very well spaced so as to provide students with ample time to prepare for everything. The difficulty level is often moderate. College exams are never very difficult. The approximate tuition, hostel and mess fee is around 28-30 lakhs currently. I am paying 25 lakhs since I am a 2021 batch student. The fee has increased now.
No I haven't opted for any internship. JPMC - SDE role Rs 75,000 per month Amex - Product Management role rs 70,000 per month Barclays - SDE role Rs70,000 per month Salesforce - SDE role Rs1,00,000 per month Bain - Analyst role Rs40,000 per month Futures first - Trader rs 40,000 per month The first round is usually the cgpa cut and CV shortlisting round. Most of the companies have a cgpa criteria of 7+ and a lot of on campus recruiters come to the college for placement. All the major companies like Google, Samsung, DE Shaw, Texas Instruments, Bain, Amex etc visit for recruitment drives and they all offer a decent number of job as well as internship offers. The highest package in the just concluded batch for placements was 60 lakhs in LinkedIn and the average packages are around 10-11 lakhs. Average percentage of students getting placed is around 60-70%. I plan on joining an MNC after my course duration and then pursue MBA. My long term goal is to be an entrepreneur and start my own firm.
Saturnalia is the main techno cultural fest of Thapar and it is held at a very grand scale every year in the month of November with amazing food stalls, shopping stalls and popular artists on the main day. The infrastructure of the college is fantastic whether it be college classrooms or hostels considering it's a private university. Most of the hostels are air conditioned with options for single, double seater along with air conditioned mess that offer a variety of cuisines throughout the week. All hostels are equipped with table tennis tables, badminton courts, carrom room, chess and common room for television facilities. The library is top notch with most of the books and journals available for issuing purposes. Badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket, football, hockey, swimming pool, athletics track are the major sports facilities available. Thapar has 50+ student run clubs and societies that offer a plethora of exposure to students. I was a part of Enactus and Echoes.

Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
