The history and prestige attached to Hindu College have always attracted me towards it. Moreover, the fact that Hindu College has the best Political Science Department in the whole of India also helped. The college also has a very very vibrant campus life that helps in the overall department of an individual aided in my choice of this college. Admission to Hindu and other DU colleges happens through CUET, which is a centralized MCQ-based entrance test.
The reason why I chose Pol Sci hons was that I had always gravitated towards political studies since a young age and want to pursue it in the same direction with a special emphasis on International Relations. Overall the faculty is amazing with world-class professors, however, one might have to tackle difficulties understanding a hand few professors due to orthodox teaching practices. The exams are held in a semester-based system with 2 semesters in 1 year. The college offers Raj Bhargava Schlorship which offers 75,000 rupees per annum to its scholars along with hoards of other scholarships offered to students from backward sections of society.
Even though I have had internships during my time in college those weren’t affiliated to the college itself. But many opportunities are provided by the placement cell of our college along with many offered by the University.
While the placement options for courses like sciences, statistics and mathematics are ample those for Humanities streams (other than Economics) are relatively scarce. The average package is anywhere from 8–12 lac per annum.
The campus life at college is very very happening with hoards of societies and clubs that cater to every interest and hobby from dancing to singing to debating. Hindu is also known for its huge emphasis and incentivising sports with its teams in Basketball, Tennis, Cricket, Football and others being the best in the whole of the DU circuit.
IGNOU offers limited direct campus placement opportunities, but the degree is widely recognized and helps improve employability. Students mainly secure jobs through off-campus applications, competitive exams, or by upgrading their skills. The flexible learning system allows learners to work, prepare for higher studies, or pursue professional certifications alongside their course. IGNOU also conducts periodic placement drives through its Campus Placement Cell.
The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.
The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog
PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.
The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
