Being a Law Student at UEM
Likes
- The thing I like about the infrastructure is the college basement Where you can Play table tennis, Snooker and mini-golf.
- Our university classrooms are big and spacious, so we don’t have to deal with the congestion, which might be the case in terms of many other colleges.
Dislikes
- The structure of the college building is very confusing at times.
- Your classroom is not your permanent classroom, You might be shifted to Any classroom every week To make space for the faculty rooms.
Remarks :
This university provides a strict school-like environment and focuses on all round development of the students preparing them for future jobs by providing internships and mentorships. Three exams per semester are hectic but do provide for students' academic growth. Frequent faculty changes in thuniversity every semester are something which eased me a lot. The voices of the students are mostly ignored by the management. The arrogance of the management is over the roof. Too many courses under one roof have made law students feel left out as B.Tech takes the majority.
Course Curriculum Overview :
After my 12th, I was confused whether to pick BBA or LLB. I found out about this integrated 5-year course from Google filled up a survey and received a call from the college. Each term 2 unit tests consisting of 30 marks and an end-sem 100 marks exam is conducted. Our 2020 batch is getting charged 550000 for the whole degree. This year (2024) the new students would be paying 600000 for the whole degree.
Internships Opportunities :
I found a better internship opportunity outside the university and opted for that internship. My university did provide me with an internship but I think you can get better opportunities from outside. The internship, my college provided to me was under an advocate who was paying me a stipend of three thousand rupees a month. My job was to assist my senior with court proceedings and drafting. It was an internship at Kolkata High Court.
Placement Experience :
Our university doesn’t hold placement drives for the Law course. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of this university. They may give you the contact of a few advocates under whom you may practice as their junior but no official placements take place and no placement data is released by the university
Campus Life :
This college feels like a school as college starts at 9:30 and goes on until 4:15 with an hour- break. Once you enter the premises you need to stay until the university timings are over and you can’t enter through the gate after 9:35. 75% attendance is mandatory. The University arranges many events throughout the year revolving around art forms like dance, music, drama and debate having separate clubs. The university also arranges different sports tournaments throughout the year like cricket, football, table tennis, Badminton, mara, Cycling etc. The cafeteria and food quality of this university is top-notch and affordable as well, not sacrificing quality.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
