After the Higher Secondary examination due to low marks the only option to get into a good college was the Entrance Examination. So I applied to the three Ramakrishna Missions. After the written test I was selected at Rahara in B.Sc. (Hons) CS with entrance merit rank 9 and took admission without waiting for the other two. As RKMVCC doesn't have a hostel facility, the restrictions were less so it was better for me as I am a student who studies at midnight. The main attraction to get admitted was the NIRF rank of the college which was 13th at that time but now it is 8th with NAAC A++ (3.8 out of 4). N.B: For admission students(Male students only) need to take an entrance exam admission will be on the basis of the Entrance Exam number and the number got in the 12th
* I chose this course as I was interested in research in CS and didn't prepare for JEE * C are frequently updated as it is an autonomous college some courses that students want to peruse are sometimes added. * Most of the teachers have PhD degrees and some have Post Docs and several visiting profs. from ISI, JU, CU and many more visit the college for regular classes and additionally have a strong culture in research. * 4 exams are conducted every year, 2 exams every semester. Exams will accurately be on March (Even Sem Mid Sem), May(Even Sem End Sem), September (Odd Sem Mid Sem), December (Odd Sem End Sem) * There is no fee hike * Strict attendance policy, if you have less than 60% attendance, you can't sit in the examination.
I am working as a Quantum Computing Research Intern at A. K. Choudhuri School of Information Technology, University of Calcutta. College gives coaching for WBCS & UPSC but doesn't have on-campus placements. Students opt for placements from off campus. Though maximum students go to higher studies. The college produced A.I.R. under 100 every year in JAM, GAT-B, NET, and JEST-like examinations. Almost every student of CS gets an internship every year some in the industry some in Research. I am now working as a Research Intern at AKCSIT under the guidance of the Director of AKCSIT, Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti. Planning to do higher studies upto PhD.
In the case of the Computer Science department, we have now 3 events conducted by us i.e. ISAC (International Symposium on Advances in Informatics and Computing), Nirdesh (Tech Fest), and Neuroverse (Intra Departmental Tech Fest). Apart from this 1st year students have to attend more than 30 seminars in a year that involves various aspects such as Music, Science, Education, Culture etc. Annual Sports happen in January. The college has a GYM in it which costs 20 rs for 4 years. There is a canteen in the college with decent food quality. There is no Hostel Facility. There is a rented room available in the area for minimal cost starting from 1.5k per month to upwards. The college encourages students to music and drawing.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
