Remarks :
a few seniors of mine are and have been in this college and it is no doubt one of the best private engg colleges in Kolkata. Admission is done through wbjee but there's a direct Admission process as well. getting a score of about 50 in wbjee is good enough for Admission to a top branch in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
this course can get you a job in both software and core fields. so it is an advantage. the faculty is highly qualified here and the teaching method is good enough if you are regular with classes. the semester exams are not that hard and mostly come from topics covered in lectures. about the fees there has been a hike in it in 2024 for the new students as well as the existing first year students.
Placement Experience :
the eligibility criteria for placement is mainly having a cgpa more than 7.5. the average package is like 6lpa on campus and the highest can go up to 1cr(off campus). u can also opt for master's after btech since AEIE is a very good branch for mTech or u can also opt for good placements off-campus
Campus Life :
campus life is quite good. you can join various tech and cultural clubs and sports too. you can even participate in fashion events in and out of the college. the library is good and books will always be available to you.

Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects.
