- What I love about Presidency is it's political environment, and the critical thinking done by all, it really makes the political scenario around us, clear, and helps us get vocal about our rights, and teaches us how to fight for them.
- The best thing about the faculty is they're not at all professionals, they're available anytime, if not on campus, then on call or Whatsapp, as I said earlier it's a student friendly environment, and even the seniors are really helpful.
Dislikes
- There should be a medical unit, as there are frequent accidents during tournaments and matches, and in the gym.
- There should be more books available in the library, and the number of books that can be borrowed at a time, should be at least 4, instead of the current limit of 2.
Remarks :
It is one of the premier institutions in the country and one of the best places to major in statistics. Though we were selected based on our board marks, nowadays there's an entrance exam Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test(PUBDET). The syllabus is the maths syllabus for classes 11 and 12. One must have at least 80% overall in 12 boards, and at least 70% in maths/stats.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Statistics as a subject has vast applications in the banking sector, consultancy sector, analytics, data science and engineering, etc. The faculty is extremely good and well-versed in the subject. They are very helpful and overall it's a student-friendly environment. If one attends the classes regularly, he/she can get a good grasp on the subject, and the exams would be really easy to take. There are many scholarship programs available based on 10+2, marks, caste, family income, semester results, and also scholarships for women.
Internships Opportunities :
The college provides summer internships to the students, and one can also apply for internships personally. Generally, interns need to do basic tasks like data management, data loading, and basic coding, the stipend received is 3000-4000 per month.
Placement Experience :
One has to complete their MSc to be eligible for placements. Currently, the placement cells are active in only three departments, STATISTICS, ECONOMICS, and GEOLOGY, the median package for statistics last year was 8 LPA and the highest package offered was 14 LPA. Almost 70-80% of students get placed. Companies like ICICI, AXIS BANK, ACCENTURE, PWC, and TCS, are the general recruiters.
Campus Life :
The presidency has a vibrant social life. There are 2 annual fests, ISPAT and ICON, generally conducted in September and November, respectively. There are programs organized by PUDF (PU dance forum), DEBSOC (Debate Society, founder: Sir Derozio), then there are sporting events like cricket, football, badminton, carrom, table tennis leagues, then there's a Mohun Bagan Fan Club called Presidency Mariners, which hosts tournaments from time to time. All these fests and leagues are organized completely by the students, for Presidency is run for the students, of the students, and by the students. We have our boy's hostel (HINDU HOSTEL, FYI: Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India was once a boarder of Hindu Hostel), it is located just beside the college, it's cheap, the food is quite good and there's no ragging. The same things apply to the girl's hostel, except that it's quite far away from the college, BUT now there are buses available, at cheap rates (800 per semester).

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
