I completed my ISC board exam when I almost applied to all the colleges under Calcutta University. I was able to secure the top position in the list in history. That's when I immediately took admission to the college. The admission process is simple. We had to register ourselves as students and after a few days, names were announced. I was able to get into the college. There were no discussions, interviews or tests held for the exams. It was based on merit. One must pass 10+2 and security an aggregate of 55% at least. The college is small so you may have a connection with everyone. Office staff, teachers and classmates were helpful, humble and polite. There are two buildings and not in good condition. They must restore the classrooms and buildings.
I loved the subject of history and always wanted to study it. Since I was able to secure the top position on the admission list, I was immediately admitted to the college. The teachers and staff members are helpful and polite. Some of the teachers have completed PhD and others are completing their PhD. The teachers taught their topics thoroughly. They provided us with notes and referred to some books. They also cleared out the concepts of we had trouble. The semester was 5 months and exams were held in the 5th month. Before it, internal tests were held and assignments had to be submitted. The examinations were not that hard if students studied well. Teachers also referred to previous year's question papers as similar questions would come. They made it way easier. Since our college is under the state government, the government provide us with a Kanyashree scholarship only for girls. It provides financial assistance for education purposes only. There were other scholarships provided to students.
The college doesn't provide placements and job opportunities. It sponsors some of the workshops where students participate as interns. Companies come to spread their information and students participate. They are individual companies. After completing a bachelor's one must opt for a master's as it is hard to get jobs now. Since we are in general subject, it becomes competitive later. One may clear competitive exams as well.
The college celebrates almost all the festivals. It also organises workshops of internships from other companies for students. Sports are also organised. Students perform different activities. There is a counselling room for students as well. The library is quite big providing books for all the subjects. The shelves are separate for each subject making it easier for students. The overall infrastructure of the college is not that good. Some of the classrooms are big but there are smaller classrooms also. These rooms don't even have space to move hence less number of desks. Every classroom has a white board and marker. Some of them are equipped with projectors as well. The auditorium is also small and not all can fit in the hall. We have a playground where most of the activities take place. The college is calm and peaceful and filled with trees. We have a canteen to provide good food to all. The hostel is not present.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
