The School of Technology manages the main B.Tech courses. Separate professional council approvals apply to the School of Law, School of Pharmacy and School of Architecture. GITAM School of Business offers the AICTE-approved MBA at Visakhapatnam, while the university also runs a more established MBA offering at its Hyderabad campus.
Admission requirements differ by programme. Applicants must meet the academic criteria, submit an accepted entrance score where required and complete document verification before paying the course fee.
Students may seek B.Tech admission through the state route using AP EAPCET or TS EAMCET. The management-quota or direct-admission route considers GAT and JEE Main scores.
GAT is GITAM's annual entrance examination. Strong GAT or JEE Main performance may qualify a student for a merit scholarship covering 15% to 100% of tuition fees.
MBA applicants must hold a degree in any subject with at least 50% marks. GITAM considers CAT, CMAT, GMAT and its management entrance test. Shortlisted applicants must also attend the compulsory Group Discussion and Personal Interview, commonly called the GDPI round.
For BALLB, students need 45% in Class 12 and a valid CLAT or GITAM LAT score. B.Pharma requires Class 12 PCB with 50%, together with GAT or AP EAPCET Biology stream performance. B.Arch applicants must have 50% in Class 12 PCM and a valid NATA or JEE Paper 2 score. The Council of Architecture approves the architecture programme.
The closing rank for B.Tech CSE depends on the admission route and applicant category. Through the EAPCET route, the recent closing-rank range for Andhra Pradesh General Category applicants has been 15,000 to 30,000.
| Course | Admission Channel | Category | Recent Closing Rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| B.Tech CSE | EAPCET | AP General Category | 15,000 to 30,000 |
The GAT direct-admission route has a lower score threshold. However, students admitted without a scholarship pay a higher fee component.
According to the NIRF 2026 data submission, B.Tech students from the 2025 graduating cycle received a median package of INR 4.8 LPA. The MBA median was INR 6 LPA. Across the university's campuses, more than 757 recruiters took part, and the placement rate reached 77%.

I choose biotechnology because they have excellent laboratories and allow for good practice and good experimental experience . Term exams will be three and they conduct these exams in the gap of one month alternatively and finally the sem end exams.
This college infrastructure is out notch and they have very outstanding laboratories for science school and the professors are highly qualified with friendly nature and teach very well for the students to understand. They have best placements.
Read Full ReviewThe faculties are highly qualified and supportive. They help us to give our best. The teaching method focuses on practical and theoretical aspect as well. There are two exams in a semester. There is a mid term and a semester end examination and according to me the semester end examination is quite easy if we pay attention in the class.
College offers placement opportunities but this year very few students got placed and very few companies visited. Most of the jobs offered were sales jobs and average package was 3lpa. Companies that visited campus was PWC, Bajaj Alliance, adbeets, etc.
Read Full ReviewI choose this course as i aspire to be a very skilled computer science engineer and GITAM’s faculty is the best at giving the best to the students. The exam difficulty is often viewed through the amount of subject and concept you get through your head.
You need to attempt an entrance text before you join, it is for scholarship. The exam name is G-Test, i think. There are general MCQ test and an aptitude test(online). I have written the exam through my intermediate college
Read Full ReviewCurriculum is well designed for the students No pressure for the academic and the faculty are well designated and their student interaction is notable Exams are conducted prior to the academic calendar
They might mention 100% placements as the world knows it is highly impossible but up to some extent they offer good placements and their previous record is highly appreciated.Avg package is around 5lakhs
Read Full ReviewAcademics are really good all the faculties are phd holders maximum everyone is experienced, the teaching is really good with help of technology and all ya it's really good studies , coming to exams there is one mid term exam and one sem end exam that's it .
Here college has 97% placement rate and ya it's is good okayish but need to work hard to get a good placement here as iam in first year I don't know much about the placement rounds and all the stuff so yeah
Read Full Reviewits alright i mean it is not bad by any means but I feel that it I slacking and a bit constrained I mean compared to other colleges it is better but still I would students would benefit from having more freedom with the course selection
pretty good last year the placements highest were 50lpa with an average of 12 lpa but I can't say much as I am still in the first year we don't get that information much but I do belive that many if not most people have been placed through campus placement
Read Full ReviewMost of the faculty are highly qualified, research pHd scholars. Mid term exams used to be 3 in total but now its only one. Its 70:30 exam mark pattern. 70 internals, 30 externals which is final exam.
Placement percentage is quiet good too. Everybody who opt for placements will be encouraged to apply for every company. It is better to keep your gpa above 7 so it will be very likely for you to apply to every company that comes.
Read Full ReviewAcadamics and course curriculum was one of the best in the market. When compared to near Universities Gitam was way far updated in the technology using and teaching methods. Syllabus was updated version from the past
Internships won't be provided by college but we need to find an opportunity from our network. We as a group or team need to request a company and do the internship. Placements were well handled and trained.
Read Full ReviewThere are so much of facilities in the college and very rich and heritage also. And also I. The academic works also the college is very goodand it is the good college in the vishakapatnam compared to other colleges.
Good in campus and environment also and the college is very nice anthe also the professors of this college are very highly educated and know how to teach the children in a proper way and also there are more fests happening in the college.
Read Full ReviewI had an interest in management since childhood therefore to gain deeper insights in the field i choose BBA. The faculty here in GITAM are very qualified most of them have their PHD's and they have more than 15 to 20 years of teaching experience. The syllabus was running on time. The dates of the exams were also set in a way so that the students get ample of time to prepare for the subject and the starting time for the exams were also good.
The first factor which made me choose GITAM is that is in the same city where i live. I got to know about it through my seniors plus the online campaigns the college had started. For thw admission process you have to first apply for the GITAM APTITUDE TEST(GAT) by paying 1200(my case..may increase or decrease) and it is non refundable. Then you have to come for the test it is for 200 marks and there are score brackets to get scholarships on the basis of your score. Generally most of the people attempting the test are given the scholarship even if it is 15%. And after the test you are taken for an interview with faculty. After completion of the interview you are send for documents verification and if all is okay you are sent the payment link to pay the fees. After payment you are now a student in the college.
