IIM Raipur Admission Dates 2027

CAT 2026 forms the basis of PGPM admissions for the 2027-29 batch. After the CAT result, the Joint Admission Process application stage is expected to start in January 2027. The remaining scheduled and tentative milestones are listed below.

IIM Raipur conducts PGPM selection through JAP along with IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Tiruchirappalli. Applicants must choose IIM Raipur while completing CAT registration to become eligible for a JAP shortlist invitation. A separate late-registration opportunity is not available.

IIM Raipur Courses and Fees

Postgraduate, executive, doctoral and certificate courses are available at IIM Raipur. The following duration, eligibility and fee details apply to the 2025-26 cycle.

The total PGPM academic charge of INR 21,40,720 consists of INR 11,18,860 for Year 1 and INR 10,21,860 for Year 2. This amount excludes hostel and mess charges, which students pay separately. PhD scholars may receive a research stipend from IIM Raipur or an external funding body, helping them meet part of the doctoral cost.

IIM Raipur Admission Process

PGPM Admission (2-Year Programme)

A common JAP application and composite scoring system are used for PGPM admission to IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Tiruchirappalli.

• Eligibility: General, EWS and NC-OBC applicants need a bachelor's degree with a 60% aggregate. The requirement is 50% for SC candidates and 45% for ST and PwD candidates. CA, CS and CMA qualification holders who do not have a bachelor's degree may apply with 50% in that professional qualification. Students in their final year can also apply, but they must finish graduation before joining the course.
• CAT minimum for General candidates, based on the JAP 2026-28 reference: Applicants need 95.25 percentile overall and at least 75 percentile in each of VARC, DILR and QA.
• Selection formula: The final score combines CAT performance (52%), Personal Interview (20%), work experience (10%), gender diversity (6%), undergraduate performance (5%), Class 12 marks (3%), Class 10 marks (2%) and academic diversity (2%), making a total of 100%.
• PI cities: Interviews take place in Bangalore, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and on the IIM Raipur campus. JAP assigns the location, so applicants cannot select their preferred centre.

Previous employment is not an eligibility condition for PGPM. A fresher receives no marks under the 10% work-experience component but can still gain admission with a strong CAT result and academic record.

EPGP Admission (Executive 1-Year Programme)

EPGP is a full-time residential course meant for senior professionals. Applicants must have at least 5 years of full-time work experience after graduation. IIM Raipur reviews the application and then uses a group discussion and Personal Interview for selection. This course does not use JAP, and candidates apply to the institute directly.

PhD Admission

IIM Raipur holds doctoral selection cycles twice a year, in January and July. An applicant must have a postgraduate degree in management or another relevant subject. A written test and interview determine selection. Fellowship funding for doctoral scholars may come from DST-SERB, ICSSR or the IIM Raipur research fund.

IIM Raipur Placements

The institute placed 328 of 347 eligible students during its 2025 final placement season. The 144 participating companies, including 47 first-time recruiters, offered an average CTC of INR 18.83 LPA. The median stood at INR 18.4 LPA, and the season's highest package was INR 33.12 LPA.

IT/ITES generated 33% of the placements, while BFSI contributed 23%. General Management produced the top CTC of INR 33.12 LPA. Packages in Operations and IT went up to INR 32.76 LPA. For the 2025 summer placements, the highest monthly internship stipend was INR 3 Lakhs, compared with an average of INR 1.07 Lakhs per month.

Morgan Stanley, DE Shaw, Wells Fargo and Standard Chartered are established BFSI recruiters at IIM Raipur. Deloitte and specialised firms recruit for consulting and general management positions. Amazon and Cognizant are leading names in the IT/ITES recruiter group, while Adani Group and Aditya Birla Capital represent Indian conglomerates and financial services.

IIM Raipur Rankings

Under the national NIRF framework, IIM Raipur secured rank 15 in the Management category for 2025. This position places it among India's leading newer-generation IIMs.

The institute does not take part in international business-school rankings from FT, QS or Bloomberg. Such systems call for long-term alumni salary records and international research-output measures that are not fully developed for India's newer IIMs. NIRF's 15th rank compares IIM Raipur with the full range of Indian management institutes, including established IIMs and major private business schools.

IIM Raipur Scholarships

PGPM students can seek financial help based on academic merit or financial need. Scholarship amounts for the 2027-29 batch have not been published because the institute announces them when each academic year begins.

IIM Raipur Campus and Infrastructure

The permanent IIM Raipur campus covers 203 acres in Atal Nagar, Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh's planned capital. It is 25 km from Raipur city. Swami Vivekananda Airport is about 15 km away, and road transport connects the area with Raipur railway junction.

Facilities include academic blocks, seminar halls, a central library and a management development centre. Separate residential buildings serve students, faculty and staff, while both male and female PGPM students can live in on-campus hostels.

Case-study classrooms, group-discussion rooms and a Bloomberg terminal laboratory for finance and economics courses support academic work. Students also have access to dedicated sports spaces, a gymnasium and recreation areas. Landscaped grounds form part of the campus, whose design follows green-building standards.

IIM Raipur vs IIM Ranchi vs IIM Kashipur

PGPM applicants to IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Kashipur use the CAT-based Joint Admission Process. Candidates who choose any of the four JAP institutes during CAT registration enter a common shortlisting process. The comparison can help students assess these institutes after receiving JAP shortlist calls.

The three institutes have comparable placement outcomes and fee ranges, and all follow the same JAP route based on CAT. Their locations provide the clearest distinction. IIM Ranchi offers an urban setting in Jharkhand's capital, while IIM Kashipur is situated near the Uttarakhand foothills. IIM Raipur has the largest campus of the three, covering 203 acres in the quieter surroundings of a planned new capital city.
