A privately-funded state university, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology was established in 1995. The university has been accredited with Grade A by the NAAC, in addition to being DCI, AICTE and UGC approved. GJUST Admissions are based on merit and entrance exams, both.

IIRF ranked the university at 112 for BTech, in 2024.

BTech is the flagship course of GJUST, offered in eleven specialisations. For admission, the candidate should have scored 50% in 10+2, with Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects. Eligible candidates are selected based on their 10+2 scores, followed by JEE Mains Scores. The total fees of this four-year program is INR 3.22 Lakhs.
In addition to BTech, GJUST courses include graduate and post-graduate courses in Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Medical, Management, Commerce, Computer Applications, Mass Communications, Arts, Paramedical, Vocational Courses and Law.

GJUST Hisar awards scholarships to meritorious students. The university also offers fee concessions to students from economically backward backgrounds. Students may avail scholarships offered by the government, the university and by other educational agencies in Haryana. GJUST awards merit-based scholarships, with fee waiver of Rs 2,500/- per semester. Meritorious candidates, whose parents income is less than or equal to INR 75,000 per annum are also granted fee waiver of Rs 2,500/- per semester. PhD or Research Scholars, based on Entrance Test and Selection Committee’s recommendation, are granted fee waiver of INR 5,000 Per Month + INR 3,000 PA (contingency).
