Ques. Which entrance score can I use instead of GAT for B.Tech at GITAM Bengaluru?
Ans. A B.Tech applicant may submit a valid JEE Main, KCET or COMEDK UGET score instead of GAT. One accepted score is sufficient for the application. Taking GAT can still be useful because a high rank may lead to a merit scholarship covering up to 100% of the tuition fee.
Ques. How can a non-Karnataka student seek a B.Tech seat at the Bengaluru campus?
Ans. Students from every state may apply using JEE Main or GAT. KCET and COMEDK seats are available to Karnataka domicile students, while applicants from outside the state are considered through the JEE Main and GAT merit lists. The apply.gitam.edu portal accepts forms from all states.
Ques. What financial support is offered to GAT and GATE-qualified students?
Ans. Students with strong GAT scores may receive a tuition fee waiver of up to 100%. Eligible GATE-qualified M.Tech students receive an AICTE PG Scholarship of INR 12,400 per month throughout the two-year course. Those with the highest GATE scores may also qualify for GITAM's Merit Scholarship. The award is confirmed during counselling.
Ques. Which records should an applicant carry for GITAM counselling?
Ans. Students generally need their Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates, entrance examination scorecard, transfer certificate, recent passport-size photographs and a government-issued photo identity document. A category certificate is also required when applicable. Applicants should carry the originals and two photocopy sets, while the counselling call letter provides the final document list.
Ques. What is the selection route for a GITAM Ph.D applicant with a national-level test score?
Ans. The research admission portal for the listed cycle is closed. Applicants with valid GATE, UGC-NET or CSIR-NET scores do not need to take GReAT and can proceed directly to the interview stage. Other eligible applicants must qualify through GReAT before attending the interview.

Read Full ReviewI joined GITAM University Bangalore through KCET, which had a defined cutoff for admissions. The good aspects of the college are excellent faculty, infrastructure, and placement opportunities, though the fee structure is on the higher side. Preparing for KCET involved regular study, practicing mock tests, and focusing on key topics in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
