An honest review on USTM

What I Liked

I liked the campus and the infrastructure
I liked the environment and the faculty

What I didn’t like

The money for the course is much high to afford.

Placement Experience:

Many recruitment company come mostly for the students of business administration or for computer related students. Around 5-10% students get recruited with an annual salary of around 3L. After my degree i plan to go for PhD

Internships Opportunities:

I didn't apply for any internship as of now. But in the coming days i would love to apply for internship. So i dont have much knowledge about the companies or the stipend they pay. But i know that many internship opportunities are available

What I Liked

The atmosphere inside the campus, the event they organised and the location of the university
The Library facilities. You can access library 24/7.

What I didn’t like

There is no placement and job. And they never focus on this.
There is nothing to dislike about the university other than placement.

Placement Experience:

No, for placements and job USTM is not a good option. There is no company visited when I was in college. The university administration asked to pursue higher studies for job. But as per my knowledge recently few students got placed from M.Sc Biotechnology and Microbiology department.

Internships Opportunities:

There is no internship facility for biotechnology students but for microbiology, the students have to do atleast 3-6 months of internship in their relevant field only then only they will receive their degree

What I Liked

The campus environment which is big and pleasant plus peaceful
The classrooms with projectors and smart classrooms

What I didn’t like

The fee structures and other unnecessary costs
The admin staff who are rude towards the students

Placement Experience:

Placements are also available as notifications are sent in official group beforehand. The students interested can apply for interviews which they host inside the campus. I dont remember the company names but there are lot of companies willing to recruit students from this university

Internships Opportunities:

About internships we have to find agencies before our agency field work starts. The college will sent an approval letter and the agency will then confirm for internships. I had did my internships in a rehab centre and iccw agencies during my bachelors

What I Liked

College campus is beautiful and very spacious .
The college offers a good numbers of co-curricular activities like fest, Events and Concerts.

What I didn’t like

Faculty is not very good at their jobs not well equipped nor experienced enogh.
No good internship programs and job offer after graduation.

Placement Experience:

Placement and job opportunities arent great but okay. There are some companies that come to the campus for hiring but the numbers are very low . very few students gets job offer not many to choose from. There are internship programs available but they arent very notable companies.once in a while someone gets a good offer from a good company but it is very rare.

Internships Opportunities:

For internship you can apply from 3rd year and very limited opportunities and i don't think they offer any good learning experiences. You have to create and complete a project assigned to your group. its not a solo project but a group project.

What I Liked

The infrastructure is really great , the scenic view is also beautiful
The sports accomodation and gymnasium is really great

What I didn’t like

The road conditions worsens during rainy days
A few of the The restaurant are unhygienic

Placement Experience:

The college has decent placement , most of them are from business administration, various companies recruits students during their final years , with a basic adequate salary package of 15-25 k per month

What I Liked

i like the infrastructure of the university that provides all the required facilities and the environment of the university is very good and positive located at a beautiful place with wonderful view and clean surrounding with greenery all around. The staff of the university is very polite as well as the faculty members are friendly and well-mannered with good experience and qualification. Campus life in this university is good and fun, the students are well behaved and friendly.

What I didn’t like

Few things i dont like about the university is that the university is way too much struct for the students making it difficult for them to sometimes feel free in the campus, it makes u feel like you are still in school. Another thing i dont like about the university is that they dont give us any holidays, after every semester they dont give us any holidays, only on durga puja, bihu and eid they will give us holidays that too formax to max 10 days and not more than that. For them students attendance means a lot more than there mental peace.

Internships Opportunities:

Academor a 2 month tarining plus internship program in collaboration KSHITIJ IIT Kharagpur, Microsoft, CISCO, IBM and more. This internship provides certificate and teaches many skills that will be very much helpful in the future of the students. It has many25 courses under it which can opted by all college students.

What I Liked

The faculty member of this university is the best
The work experience here is too good. You can get facilities for any research or studies.

Placement Experience:

The college provides internships in very reputed companies like ITC, Sun Pharma, Ajanta, pharma, Sbi, and many more and we have a very good place self where we get good placements in many repeated companies.

Internships Opportunities:

We were given an internship in Ajanta Pharma which was very good and in a very organised way. The teachers were very helpful and helped us even the instructor and the mentors who helped out throughout our course.

What I Liked

The campus is huge and we have everything we need inside the campus.
The social life inside the campus is colorful and vibrant.

What I didn’t like

The campus is far from city and we had to spend alot of money on traveling.
The university is strict regarding entry. Hostelers required gate pass for small small businesses outside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placement depends on the department and varies from department to department. Departments like Business Administration, Computer Application and Law offer more placement and internship experiences. Some departments send students for internships every semester.

Internships Opportunities:

No, unfortunately, I did not go for internships while pursuing my degree and have no experience in working. Other departments offer more opportunities, unlike literature departments. Therefore I did not go for internships.

Ustm - A hub for affordable and quality education

What I Liked

Faculty - there are best I've ever been with.
Campus life - the culture, the environment will really let you learn a lot.

What I didn’t like

Canteen - the food is good but too oily. Not recommended for daily basis.
Classroom - no Air conditioner but has the rest

Placement Experience:

The eligibility criteria for placement is to qualify the semester exams without any back. HDFC, Fundazz etc. recruiters visited. The highest package offered is 90LPA and the average package is 9LPA Around 50% of students get placement I was admission to VIT Vellore, to carry out my Master's degree.

Internships Opportunities:

There are no internships in my department. Although some departments provide internships. However, if you like to perform any internship outside the campus it's quite easy. They easily absorb you if they come to know that you are from us.

What I Liked

I like all of em. Our campus is very clean and the infrastructure is very urban and massive . Faculty is highly educated and humble.
Campus life was genuinely great as they provide free wifi and good food, free gym , driving classes , and all sports facilities were available.

What I didn’t like

I dont like the fact that it is in the outskirts of Guwahati city
If you're not going to stay near the Uni or in the campus hostel , then travelling might be a hassle

Placement Experience:

The eligibility criteria for campus placement is 50% and above. They will provide 2-3 posts from every hospital and clinic in the city. According to my first package I got from my college was 3.2LPA. Over 75% of the students got placed through campus placement

Internships Opportunities:

I did a clinical internship at Lifeline Physiotherapy clinic, Composite Regional Centre, Alpollo Excel Care Hospital and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. And u will be taught every treatment protocol which is available at the hospital
