Mizoram University is ranked at 67th place in the category of universities for NIRF 2020. The University offers several academic courses like B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MBA, M.Phil, PhD and various other UG and PG courses in numerous specializations.

For B.Tech admission, 50% of seats will be filled from JEE Main score and the other 50% will be from Mizoram University Engineering Entrance Examination (MZUEEE). Admission in B.Arch students are based on the scores in NATA or JEE Main Paper 2. For M.Tech, only the GATE scorecard will be taken under consideration. The University will accept MAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT scorecards for Ph.D admissions. 

For selection to PhD and M.Phil, suitable weight age shall be given to the candidate’s GATE score, Percentage marks in Master’s Degree, Entrance test score and Interview Performance. The candidates need to go to the official website and fill the application form to apply for admission.

10% of these seats are designated as University Special Quota for Unrepresented Backward Areas, Outstanding Sportsmen/ Sportswomen (10% added weight age to marks obtained for those who have represented the country at International Level, 5% for those who represented the State at National Level and 3% weight age for Inter- University at National Level), Children of regular Employees of Mizoram University.

Mizoram University: B.Tech Admission 2023

Mizoram University offers B.Tech in different specializations given below:

Eligibility Criteria

  • For B.Tech: Applicants must have completed their 10+2 from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in total aggregate(for SC and ST there is 5% relaxation).
  • Students should have Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as a subject combination in their 10+2.
  • For B.Tech Lateral Entry: Applicants must have completed 3 years diploma in their respective discipline and have scored a minimum of 60% marks in total aggregate(for SC and ST there is 5% relaxation).

Selection Criteria

  • Students have to appear in either JEE mains or MZU EEE for admission in BTech.
  • 50% of total seats will be filled through JEE mains and the rest of 50% will be through MY EEE.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in science or social science or humanities and should have scored over 50% of total marks. Or,
  • Applicants should hold a B.Tech degree in any branch with a minimum of 55% marks.

Admission to B.Ed will be through the entrance examination.

  • For admission to MBA, applicants should first appear in entrance exams like CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT.
  • After the entrance exams, students have to go through group discussions and personal interview rounds.
  • The application form should be collected from the university office. The students who have valid MAT scorecards can collect the form from the department of management or fill directly from AIMA, New Delhi (www.aima.ind.org).
  • Admission to the Tourism and Hospitality Management should be done through a 200 point process where a weightage of 100 points is in the entrance exam and the rest of 100 points will be given in the performance of group discussion and personal interview session.

Admission will be based on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance exam followed by a personal interview. The marks of one in his/her masters will be also taken under consideration. It has a total of 50% weightage.

The steps to apply for admission at Mizoram University are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of Mizoram University and search for the admission portal.
  • There you have to register yourself with a valid email id.
  • After successful registration, you will receive an email in the given id with your user name and password. Use them to log in again.
  • Fill the admission form with your personal details and submit it.
  • Before submission check, if everything is right or not. After submission, you’ll not get a chance for correction.
  • Then you have to pay INR 700/- for the application fee(INR 350/- for SC and ST category). You can pay through a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
  • Then you need to upload your documents. Please check if the documents are valid or not. Any wrong information will lead to application cancellation.
  • The application process is over. You need to download the pdf of the submitted application form or take a printout of it for future needs.
