Mizoram University (MZU), established in 2001, is a NAAC-accredited university with over 35 affiliated colleges. It has a vast area of about 978 acres approximately in the outer region of Aizawl City. It has been ranked 76 in the university category by NIRF 2023. 

The University offers UG, PG, M. Phil., and PhD programs for 33 departments. Admissions to MZU take place through online modes only and are merit and entrance-based. For most of the UG courses, MZU accepts CUET scores, for the BTech and BArch courses, it accepts JEE Main and NATA scores respectively.

The university’s admission process varies for each course. It ranges from MZU online entrance to merit-based admission.

How to apply?

  • Visit the Mizoram university official website and log in.
  • Fill the application form given on the site. The candidates are not allowed to change anything in the form once submitted.
  • The candidate must pay the application fee of 700 INR for submission of the application. For Sc and ST applicants the fee is 350 INR only.
  • Take the printout of the submitted form after submission. Send the hard copy with other required documents to the official address.

Mizoram University Scholarships

Different scholarships are offered to students from time to time. Some of them are:

  • Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship- Applicable for SCs and STs only.
  • Meritorious scholarship- Applicable to students of the science stream with meritorious results and amounts to 12000 p.a
  • Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students- 10,000/pa for humanities and social science students, 12,000/pa for science students for the initial two years, and 20,500/ pa for the remaining years.
