BITS Pilani ME Admission 2026
BITS Pilani offers M.E. as a two-year, full- time PG degree program in 16 specialisations. The most popular specialisation is ME Computer Science & Engineering.
- ME total fees is INR 12.12 Lakhs.
- The institute conducts BITS HD Online Test for admission to ME program.

BITS Pilani PhD Fees 2026
BITS Pilani offers PhD in 14 specialisations such as Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Data Sciences etc. The total fees for the PhD program is INR 1.93 Lakhs for all the specialisations.
Eligibility : Masters Degree with a minimum 60% marks.
For admissions to PhD Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates must have a Master's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
Selection Criteria : Written exam and/ or Interview
BITS Pilani PhD Written Test
BITS Pilani shortlists candidates for PhD admission based on written test score for Interview. The test pattern differs according to the PhD discipline chosen by the candidate. The test details according to the specialisations are described below.
Candidates shortlisted for PhD in disciplines namely Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics are required to appear for a Written test. The details of the tests are as follows:
- No. of Questions: 50-100 questions
- Exam type: MCQ, all subject specific
- Duration: 2-3 hrs.
- Negative Marking: 25% deduction in marks for each incorrect answer.
Candidates shortlisted for PhD in Humanities & Social Sciences/ Economics & Finance will have to appear for two tests. Test-I will be common to both disciplines and Test-II will be discipline specific. The details of the Test 1 are as follows:

All Candidates shortlisted for PhD in Management have to appear for a One-hour Subjective Test. The written test will be application-based in the areas of Business & Management to test basic management knowledge and research aptitude.
Note: Candidates with M.Phil. / M.E. / M.Tech. or with National level fellowships like CSIR NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, UGC NET-JRF etc. are exempted from the written test

BITS Pilani conducts entrance exams for admission to its various courses. The admission process for BITS Pilani is as follows:
BITSAT 2026
BITS Pilani conducts BITS Admission Test, a Computer Based Online Test for admission to Integrated First Degree programs.
Admissions to the following programs are based on BITSAT.
- B.E. in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Maths & Computing, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engg and Environmental & Sustainability Engg.
- B. Pharm.
- M.Sc. in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Semiconductor & Nanoscience and General Studies.

BITSHD Test 2026
BITS Pilani admission to all M.E. and M.Pharm. programs are made on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD admission test or based on GATE/GPAT score. But admission to M.E. in Software Systems is through the BITS HD test only.
Details of BITS HD Test are as follows:
- Question Type: All objective (MCQs)
- Marking: +3 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted

BITS Pilani conducts Business Analytics Aptitude Test for admission to MBA BA. The exam details are as follows:

The candidates are shortlisted for the personal interview based on the test performance. Final selection to MBA BA is based on the overall performance, which includes:

BITS Pilani Admission 2026 FAQs
Ques. Is a candidate eligible to apply for BITSAT with PCB in 10+2 at BITS Pilani?
Ans. Yes, candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in 10+2 are eligible to appear for BITSAT. However, they can apply only for B.Pharm (Hons.) and B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engineering programs. They are not eligible for other first-degree programs offered by the institute.
Ques. What is a Dual Degree at BITS Pilani, and how and when is it allotted?
Ans. At BITS Pilani, students admitted to select M.Sc. programs such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, Semiconductor and Nanoscience are offered a Dual Degree option. In dual degree, students pursue their M.Sc. along with a B.E. degree from the available engineering programs.
- The B.E. degree is allotted after the first year, once first-year results are declared.
- Allotment is based on the student’s academic performance in the first year and seat availability in the chosen B.E. program.
- Students allotted a second degree must pay the admission fee for the B.E. program separately at the time of allotment.
- Students complete both degrees within five years.
Ques. Can a student apply for multiple programs at BITS Pilani using a single application form?
Ans. Yes. BITS Pilani allows candidates to apply for multiple programs through a single application form. During the application process, students can prioritize their preferred courses and campuses in order of choice. Seat allotment is carried out through multiple rounds, where higher preferences are considered automatically if cutoffs are met. There is no need to submit separate forms for different programs or campuses.

BITSAT entrance exam needed. No reservation. Various branches avaliable at range of marks. Dual degree 5yrs option avaliable. Basic JEE prep will work for BITSAT. FIll the preference order carefully and explore the Dual degree option.

It wasn't far from my home. I basically wasn't getting any IIT. Admission is only through scoring high marks in BITSAT exam. Lower branches like Civil, MSc Chem are quite easy to get, people who just qualify JEE Mains are able to get atleast somehting here

Remarks:
I gave a written test for admission to BITS Pilani which is BITSAT. I scored pretty decent and got the Top 2nd branch in the main campus (apart from this there are 3 more campuses like Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai). I scored 374/450 in the test. Factors responsible for me choosing this college was it's ranking pan-India. It ranks among the Top 5 IITs and probably has the best alumni network.

Remarks:
The college overall is a good place if the high amount of fees isn't a problem for you, but even if you do not have a firm financial background you can still study but will have to work hard in college to have a nice experience. BITS Pilani has three campuses and all of them admit students through BITSAT in their First degree program. The cutoffs vary each year and the trends show an increase in the cutoffs but after the exams, the college releases official cutoffs for each branch on their website.

Remarks:
There is only one test - the BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) to get into BITS Pilani. The level of this exam is usually easier than the JEE mains, that's why I would recommend not dedicatedly prepare for BITSAT, but prepare for JEE Mains, and in the last 1-2 months of BITSAT, give mock tests to get used to the pattern of the exam. Coming to the college, I picked BITS Pilani, because it was the best option for me at that time. Its placement stats are decent, I would say better than the NITs, and the start-up culture is one of the many things the college is known for. BITS is supportive when it comes to start-ups. If you have a good idea and a descent plan to pursue it, you can even get funding from PIEDS(Pilani Innovation and Incubation Centre), and it will also help you with your start-up. The only bad aspect of this college is the VERY HIGH fees. Including the personnel expenses, the 4 years expense will be around 30 lakhs, which is a LOT to spend for a bachelor's degree.

Remarks:
BITS pilani has its legacy in providing good campus placement, especially to CS students. It also has the best startup culture in India. Studying in this college is definitely gonna help me in my future. To get into this college you need to clear BITSAT. And to get CS you need to have a score above 320 out of 390.
