VIT aims to provide quality higher education on par with international standards. The faculty in VIT has a wide spectrum which depends and vary department to department. The overall experience of the faculty is top-notch and supportive.

The VIT University laboratory is well-equipped with modern facilities and specialized software, and provides state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and advanced research. The University has an Advanced Strength Materials Lab, Civil Engineering Computing Centre, Concrete Technology Lab, Civil Engineering Non- Destructive Testing Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, Fluid Machinery Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Heritage Research Lab, Structural Engineering Lab, Survey Lab and Transportation Engineering Lab.

There are different scholarships provided for VIT students and each has different Criteria. Some of them are mentioned below.

• VITEEE Scholarship under GV School Development Programme (GVSDP): Scholarships are given to the rank scored in VITEEE in the first year of the program and are continued on the basis of the criteria mentioned in the award letter issued during admission.
• Smt. Rajeswari Viswanathan Memorial Scholarship: Scholarships given to meritorious candidates from an economically weak background who satisfy the criteria specified in the application.
• Merit Awards for NRI and Foreign students: For the top 10 students of each branch of a program from 1st to final year with a record of 75% above attendance and no history of arrears, also do not violate the university's code of conduct. 
• Cent percent Attendance Awards: Students who maintain a record of 100% attendance 
• Sports Scholarship: For the students with great records and performance in various sports.

 For the Hostel accommodation at VIT University students have to visit https://admissions.vit.ac.in/freshersportal/ between 9.30 am and 9.30 pm and follow the instructions mentioned below. 

• Log in by using their application number and date of birth, and further click on the Hostel Booking menu. 
• Select the bed type, and mess type and generate the invoice. Once selected and confirmed the option cannot be reverted till the next day's booking. To confirm your reservation, pay online before 11.55 pm on the same day.
• The students have to do the procedure again if they fail to make the payment on the same day.

The Fee for the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at VIT University is INR 1.73 Lakhs with an INR 3k caution deposit which is refundable and a One-time payment only.

The VIT university offers UG, PG and PhD courses in various streams. The course list is as follows

• The campus has a Central Library of six floors which has specialized collections of books, journals & other resources. The library also has printed books, e-books, back volumes, and CDs\DVDs.
• The Sports arena and outdoor playgrounds for sports such as Football, Cricket, Basketball, Handball, Hockey, Tennis, Volleyball, and Throwball and for Indoor sports, they have a badminton court, table tennis room, squash room and gymnasium. 
• There are two cultural fests organized at the VIT University. Riviera, the annual International Sports and Cultural Fest and Gravitas, the annual Technological and Design Carnival.
• The transport facilities are also available for the students across all locations in and around Vellore
• The VIT Health Centre for the medical treatment of students and faculties. 
• The hostel facilities are also available for the students.

There are certain requirements as per the course that a candidate has to fulfill to get admission to VIT University, which are mentioned below:

• The applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO / OCI.
• The candidate must have passed 10+2 in science/commerce/humanities with a 70% mark from a recognised board. 
• The candidates belong to the SC/ST community or hail from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided.
• The Candidate must appear and score valid marks in the national and VIT University qualifying exams.
