VITEEE is the BTech entrance examination for VIT Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and Bhopal. A student's school subjects determine the paper route and eligible programmes; the entrance rank then supports campus, branch and fee-category choices.

The 2027 schedule is not announced. The rules below are labelled 2026 reference details, including the +4/-1 marking scheme and separate counselling process.

What Is VITEEE?

VIT Vellore and Chennai belong to VIT, a deemed-to-be university. VIT-AP at Amaravati and VIT Bhopal are state private universities. Their BTech admissions share the VITEEE examination and counselling process, but the campus is a separate choice in the allotment.

The 2026 examination was a centre-based computer test, not a board-marks-only admission process. VIT states that there is no management quota or capitation-fee route.

VITEEE 2027 Dates and Application

The 2026 application deadline shown by VIT was 12 April, followed by the 28 April-3 May examination window.

The regional aggregate concession covered Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Community or nativity proof was required.

The 2026 birth-date threshold was 1 July 2004 or later. The accepted qualifications included recognised 10+2/Intermediate routes, specified international qualifications and NIOS with at least five subjects; the detailed board-level conditions remain in the application guide.

The programme list below is the 2026 Biology-route admission list. It applied to PCB/PCMB candidates taking BPCEA and also to PCB candidates taking MPCEA. Taking the Mathematics paper did not give a PCB candidate unrestricted access to all BTech courses.

The paper lasted 150 minutes and used English-language MCQs with four choices and one correct response. Marking was +4 correct, -1 wrong and zero for unanswered/marked-for-review questions. VIT allowed one appearance; a dropped question received full marks for all candidates.

Preparing Across the Five Sections

Mathematics or Biology supplies 40 questions, while Physics and Chemistry supply 35 each. Aptitude and English add 10 and five. Those section counts are fixed in the 2026 reference; chapter percentages are not.

Physics: practise diagrams, laws, units and numerical substitution.
Chemistry: separate calculations, reaction conversions and factual classification.
Mathematics: retain calculus, geometry, matrices, probability and discrete mathematics.
Biology: practise inheritance, physiological mechanisms and labelled structures.
Aptitude/English: include reasoning formats, comprehension, grammar and pronunciation.

The preparation guide turns those tasks into revision and mock-review milestones. Use dated question-paper resources with their own format labels rather than assuming every old PDF is a current full mock.

Admit Card and Test-Day Documents

After OTBS booking, the confirmation identifies the city, date, time and subject. The actual e-admit card supplies the test-venue address. The 2026 process placed that download in the 48-hour period before the booked test.

Carry an A4 PDF printout and an accepted original, valid photo ID. The admit-card guide lists accepted IDs, reporting rules and prohibited items; the booking slip or phone screenshot is not a substitute.

Result, Counselling and Admission

VIT used percentile-based normalisation for the multi-session 2026 examination and prepared a merit rank list. Raw marks and answer-sheet photocopies were not supplied, and re-ranking/re-totalling was not offered.

The 2026 result portal process led to common online counselling for the four institutions. The non-refundable participation fee was INR 5,900. Candidates selected campus, programme and fee-category options, with allotment based on rank, preferences and available seats.

An allotted campus, programme or fee category could not be changed under the 2026 rules. Tuition payment was followed by provisional-admission and eligibility/document steps. The counselling guide contains the published tuition-category reference and complete admission-document checklist.

Paper and Admission Choices

Is VITEEE only for Vellore?+

No. The common BTech examination and counselling process covers Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and Bhopal. A test centre in one city does not commit a student to the campus in that city.

Can I take both Mathematics and Biology papers?+

VIT permitted one appearance in 2026, including across subjects or duplicate applications. A PCMB candidate should choose the route for the intended programmes rather than plan two attempts.

Is meeting the school-marks requirement enough for admission?+

No. Academic eligibility and competitive allotment are separate. The ordinary Indian BTech route required VITEEE, and the resulting rank was considered alongside preferences and availability.

Does VITEEE rank guarantee my preferred fee category?+

No. The fee category is part of the allotment option. Rank, selected preferences and available seats govern that result; a practice score or an agent's assurance cannot reserve it.

Can a PCB student study every BTech branch through MPCEA?+

No. The 2026 conditions restricted PCB candidates taking MPCEA to the stated Biology-route programmes. The choice of entrance-paper Mathematics did not replace the qualifying subject rules.

Is there a management quota?+

VIT states that it has no management quota or capitation fee. Separately notified NRI/foreign routes should not be confused with a broker selling a management seat.
