VITEEE English and Aptitude together account for 15 of the 125 questions in the 2026 pattern. Aptitude tests chart interpretation, data sufficiency, syllogisms, coding, series, clocks, calendars and directions; English tests comprehension, grammar and pronunciation.

The 2027 syllabus is not available yet. The topics and section counts below are the published 2026 preparation reference for both MPCEA and BPCEA.

VITEEE Aptitude Topics

Data sufficiency asks whether the information determines an answer; it need not require a final numerical calculation. Syllogism questions test only what follows from the stated premises.

VITEEE English Topics

A poetry line or passage can test meaning in context rather than the dictionary meaning of an isolated word. In a grammar question, identify the subject, tense or construction before selecting the option. Pronunciation belongs to the published scope and should not disappear from a vocabulary-only plan.

The +4/-1 marking applies here too. For example, 12 correct and 3 wrong across these 15 questions produce 48 - 3 = 45 raw marks. The full VITEEE paper lasts 150 minutes; VIT does not describe these two sections as a separate 150-minute test.

Worked Reasoning and Language Examples

Syllogism	All roses are flowers. Some flowers fade quickly. Does it follow that some roses fade quickly?	No. The quickly fading flowers need not include a rose. The premises do not force that overlap.
Data sufficiency	Find x. Statement 1: x + y = 10. Statement 2: y = 4.	Together they give x = 6. Neither statement alone fixes x.
Directions	Walk 3 km east and then 4 km north. Find the straight-line distance from the start.	5 km, from the 3-4-5 right triangle. The direction is north-east; distance and direction are separate outputs.
Grammar	Choose the verb: Each of the answers ___ correct.	Use "is". The subject is "Each", not the plural noun inside the following phrase.

These are original practice examples, not recalled VITEEE questions. In syllogisms, a diagram can expose an invalid overlap. In data sufficiency, test each statement separately before combining them.

A Focused Revision Method

Data interpretation: practise the same table for percentage change, ratio and absolute difference; label the chart units before calculating.
Clocks and calendars: separate hand-angle calculations from clock gain/loss, and date arithmetic from repeated-calendar questions.
Coding: write the observed transformation before applying it to another word; check whether letter position or a numerical operation is being used.
English: explain why each rejected option fails the sentence or passage, rather than recording only an answer letter.

Keep these drills alongside the science and Mathematics/Biology topics in the full syllabus. Replacing them with extra science questions leaves two tested sections unpractised.

VITEEE English and Aptitude Syllabus 2027 FAQs

Question Types

Does English include pronunciation?+

Yes. The published English scope explicitly includes pronunciation alongside comprehension and grammar at higher-secondary or equivalent level.

Is there an essay or spoken-English test inside VITEEE?+

The 2026 entrance paper uses multiple-choice questions with four choices and one answer. The English syllabus does not prescribe an essay or an oral test as part of that paper.

Are coding and number series two separate ten-question sections?+

No. They are topic types within the ten-question Aptitude section. VIT does not promise a fixed question count for each topic.

Can I assume a statement is true because it is common knowledge?+

For a syllogism, use the premises supplied in the problem. A conclusion must follow from those premises; outside knowledge cannot supply a missing relationship.

Can I calculate a percentile from 45 out of 60 here?+

45/60 is a 75% raw-score percentage for this combined practice subset. It is not a VITEEE percentile or rank, which cannot be derived from that percentage alone.
