VITEEE Counselling Process

The 2026 counselling process was common to VIT Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT Bhopal. Candidates used their rank to enter campus, programme and fee-category choices. The participation fee was INR 5,900, non-refundable.

• Log in to the central BTech counselling portal.
• Pay the counselling fee and follow the phase attached to the rank.
• Submit campus, programme and fee-category preferences.
• Check the allotted option and its payment deadline.
• Pay the required tuition and upload the higher-secondary hall ticket for the provisional admission letter.
• Produce the admission documents and satisfy eligibility.

The brochure described five phases; missing a phase allowed participation in the next applicable phase based on rank, limited to the remaining choices. The 2027 phases and dates have not been announced.

Choosing an Eligible Programme

The regional aggregate concession covered Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Community or nativity proof was required.

The programme list below is the 2026 Biology-route admission list. It applied to PCB/PCMB candidates taking BPCEA and also to PCB candidates taking MPCEA. Taking the Mathematics paper did not give a PCB candidate unrestricted access to all BTech courses.

The choice list should match the qualifying subjects, not just a preferred branch name. A PCB student taking MPCEA still had the restricted Biology-route programme options.

Tuition Categories and Programme Groups

A programme group and a fee category are different fields. Group A includes Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical and Civil Engineering. Core CSE is listed in Group B; other branches have their own listed group. The fee category belongs to the allotment and is not a caste-reservation category.

Published BTech Tuition: 2026-27

Amounts are in INR from VIT's published 2026-27 BTech tuition table; they are not a hostel-inclusive four-year total or a 2027 quotation. The table also lists a zero-tuition Category 0 scholarship entry. Eligibility for a scholarship must not be inferred from the existence of that column.

A one-time refundable INR 5,000 caution deposit is collected with first-year tuition. Compare the actual campus-programme-category offer and its duration-wise fee instructions before payment; hostel and other charges are separate.

Documents for Admission

Class 12 marksheets must cover all attempts and correspond to the board declared in the application. The migration certificate is required if issued by that board. The profile and undertaking need student and parent signatures; the affidavits and fitness form have separate certification requirements.

The original/photocopy distinction matters: the prospectus lists the admission records and forms for verification, plus one copy set. It states that retained photocopies will not be returned.

Allotment, Changes and Withdrawal

Allotment is based on rank, preferences and seat availability. The 2026 prospectus states that an allotted campus, programme or fee category cannot be changed. A broad assurance from a third-party agent does not override that condition.

VIT verifies eligibility after tuition payment, and the provisional admission is valid only if the conditions are met. An entrance result is therefore not the final proof that a candidate has met every admission requirement.

Withdrawal requests were online, with exit formalities and the no-dues process. Tuition refunds follow the applicable AICTE/UGC norms and withdrawal timing. The application and counselling participation fees were separately non-refundable.
