VITEEE 2027 syllabus has not been released. The 2026 subject lists cover Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. The complete unit-wise coverage below uses that 2026 syllabus.

MPCEA and BPCEA share four sections; Mathematics or Biology is the difference. Choose the syllabus for your paper rather than preparing both alternative subjects by default.

Paper choice also affects the eligible programme list. A PCM/PCMB candidate taking MPCEA had access to all BTech programmes under the 2026 marks conditions; BPCEA and PCB routes had a restricted list.

VITEEE Mathematics Syllabus

Two-Dimensional Analytical Geometry	Straight lines and families of lines; general conic equations, classification and eccentricity; parabola, ellipse and hyperbola in standard/general forms; focus, directrix, latus rectum, parametric forms, chords, tangents, normals and chord of contact.
Vector Algebra	Scalar and vector products, their properties and applications; scalar and vector triple products.
Three-Dimensional Analytical Geometry	Coordinates, distances and section formula; direction ratios/cosines, angle between intersecting lines; skew lines and shortest distance; equations of lines and planes, line-plane intersection and coplanarity.
Differential Calculus	Limits, continuity and differentiability; tangents, normals and angle between curves; Rolle's and Lagrange mean-value theorems; Taylor and Maclaurin series; stationary points, increasing/decreasing functions, maxima/minima, concavity, inflection, errors and approximations.
Integral Calculus and Applications	Definite integrals and their properties, fundamental theorems of calculus, reduction formulae, areas of bounded regions and lengths of curves.
Differential Equations	Formation, order and degree; first-order equations using variable separation, homogeneous and linear methods; applications.
Probability and Distributions	Axioms, addition and multiplication laws, conditional probability and Bayes' theorem; random variables, probability-density/distribution functions, expectation and variance; binomial and Poisson distributions.
Discrete Mathematics	Sets, relations, functions and binary operations; AP, GP and HP, binomial theorem and counting; statements, connectives, truth tables, logical equivalence, tautologies and contradictions.

VITEEE Physics Syllabus

Mechanics and Properties of Matter	Linear momentum; static, kinetic and rolling friction; work by constant and variable forces; work-energy theorem and power; conservative forces and energy conservation; vertical circles; elastic and inelastic collisions. Elasticity includes stress, strain, Hooke's law, Young's, bulk and shear moduli, Poisson's ratio and elastic energy. Fluids include viscosity, Stokes' law, terminal and critical velocity, streamline/turbulent flow and Bernoulli's theorem. Heat and thermodynamics cover the zeroth, first and second laws, internal energy, isothermal/adiabatic and reversible/irreversible processes, thermal expansion, heat capacities, latent heat, black-body radiation, Wien's and Stefan's laws.
Electrostatics	Charge conservation, Coulomb's law and superposition; electric fields and dipoles; electric potential, equipotential surfaces and potential energy; flux and Gauss's law. Capacitance includes electrostatic induction, dielectrics and polarisation, parallel-plate capacitors, energy storage, series/parallel combinations and the Van de Graaff generator.
Current Electricity and Magnetic Effects	Current, drift velocity, mobility, Ohm's law and V-I characteristics; resistivity, conductivity, resistor colour codes, combinations and temperature effects; cells, internal resistance and emf. Kirchhoff's laws, Wheatstone bridge, metre bridge and potentiometer are included. Magnetism covers Oersted's experiment, Biot-Savart and Ampere's laws, straight wires and circular coils, tangent galvanometer, solenoids, force on charges and conductors, cyclotron, torque on a current loop, magnetic moments, and conversion of a moving-coil galvanometer into an ammeter or voltmeter.
Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current	Faraday's and Lenz's laws; induced emf; self and mutual induction, including long solenoids. Induction through changes in field, coil area or orientation; single/three-phase AC generators, eddy currents and transformers. AC circuits with resistors, inductors and capacitors; series LCR circuits, resonance, Q-factor and power.
Optics	Reflection, spherical mirrors, refraction, total internal reflection, lenses and lens combinations; magnification, lens power and resolving power; prisms and dispersion. Wave optics includes Huygens' principle, wavefronts, Young's double-slit experiment, coherent sources, thin films, Newton's rings, diffraction, polarisation, Brewster's law, double refraction, Nicol prism and uses of plane-polarised light.
Dual Nature, Atomic and Nuclear Physics	Displacement current, electromagnetic waves and spectrum; photoelectric effect, photons and photocells. Electron discovery, Thomson's specific-charge experiment, Millikan's oil-drop experiment, alpha scattering and Rutherford's model. Nuclear size, mass, density and charge; isotopes, isobars and isotones; mass defect, binding energy and stability. Radioactive decay, half-life, mean life, artificial radioactivity, radioisotopes and carbon dating; fission, chain reactions, reactors and fusion.
Semiconductor Devices and Applications	Energy bands, conductors and insulators; intrinsic/extrinsic semiconductors and doping; p-n junction, depletion layer, barrier potential, forward/reverse bias and rectification. Zener diode, LED, transistor characteristics and use as a switch, amplifier or oscillator; NOT, OR, AND, EXOR, NAND and NOR gates, De Morgan's theorem and Boolean algebra.

VITEEE Chemistry Syllabus

Physical Chemistry	Atomic models, electron configuration, quantum numbers and orbital shapes; Pauli, Hund and Aufbau rules; atomic spectra, hydrogen series, de Broglie theory, uncertainty principle and the Schrodinger equation without derivation. Bonding and s/p/d hybridisation; thermodynamic laws, spontaneity, entropy and Gibbs energy; equilibrium, mass action and Le Chatelier's principle. Reaction rates, order, molecularity, zero/first/pseudo-first-order reactions, half-life, Arrhenius equation and collision theory. Solutions include concentration units, colligative properties, Raoult's law, ideal/non-ideal behaviour and vapour-pressure plots.
Inorganic and Material Chemistry	Alkali and alkaline-earth metals; phosphorus compounds, oxides, hydrogen halides, interhalogens and xenon fluorides. Transition-element configurations, oxidation states and colours; extraction of copper, silver, gold and zinc; copper sulphate, silver nitrate and potassium dichromate. Lanthanides, contraction and comparison with actinides. Coordination nomenclature, geometrical isomerism, Werner and valence-bond theories, uses, haemoglobin and chlorophyll. Solid-state topics include lattices, unit cells, crystal systems, packing, defects, X-ray diffraction, electrical behaviour and amorphous solids; surface topics include adsorption and catalysis.
Analytical Chemistry	Redox reactions; metallic/electrolytic conductance, Faraday's laws, strong electrolytes, specific/equivalent/molar conductance, dilution and Kohlrausch's law. Ionic product of water, pH and buffers; electrodes, cell construction, standard potentials, Nernst equation, Gibbs energy and cell emf. Dry cells, electrolytic/galvanic cells, lead accumulator, fuel cells, corrosion and prevention. Environmental chemistry covers air, water and soil pollution.
Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry	Carbon bonding and hybridisation; functional groups, homologous series and IUPAC names; homolytic/heterolytic cleavage, carbocations, carbanions, radicals, electrophiles and nucleophiles. Inductive/electromeric effects, resonance and hyperconjugation; substitution, addition, elimination and rearrangement. Structural, geometrical and optical isomerism, chirality, R/S and D/L notation; detection of alcoholic/phenolic hydroxyl, carbonyl, carboxyl and amino groups.
Functionalised Organic Compounds	Preparation, properties and uses of alcohols, phenols, benzyl alcohol, glycol, trihydric alcohols, aliphatic ethers and anisole. Aldehydes and ketones include benzaldehyde, acetone, acetophenone and benzophenone; Clemmensen and Wolff-Kishner reductions, Cannizzaro, Claisen-Schmidt, benzoin and aldol reactions; Grignard reagents. Carboxylic acids include formic, lactic, oxalic, succinic, benzoic and salicylic acids; derivatives include acetyl chloride, acetamide, acetic anhydride and esters such as methyl acetate.
Organic Nitrogen Compounds	Aliphatic/aromatic nitro compounds and their differences; preparation and properties of primary, secondary and tertiary amines; benzylamine and aniline; comparison of aliphatic and aromatic amines. Aliphatic nitriles and benzene diazonium chloride, including preparation, properties and uses.
Biomolecules and Polymers	Carbohydrates, sugars, glucose, fructose, sucrose linkages, invert sugar, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. Amino acids, peptide bonds, protein structure levels, denaturation and enzymes; lipids, fats, oils and waxes; DNA/RNA composition. Natural/synthetic polymers, addition/condensation polymerisation and copolymerisation; polythene, nylon, polyesters, Bakelite and rubber; biodegradable/non-biodegradable polymers.

Genetics and Evolution	Chromosome structure/types, linkage, crossing over, recombination, mutation and chromosomal changes. Mendelian inheritance, chromosomal theory, incomplete dominance, codominance, multiple alleles, pleiotropy, sex linkage and human sex determination. Darwinism, neo-Darwinism and Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium with selection, mutation, migration and genetic drift.
Human Health and Diseases	Pathogens and parasites associated with malaria, dengue, chikungunya, filariasis, COVID, ascariasis, typhoid, pneumonia, common cold, amoebiasis and ringworm; prevention/control. Immunology, vaccines, antibiotics, cancer, HIV/AIDS, adolescence and drug/alcohol abuse.
Biochemistry	Structure/function of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins; enzyme types, properties and action; glycolysis, fermentation and the Krebs cycle.
Plant Physiology	Movement of water, food, gases, minerals and nutrients; passive/facilitated diffusion and active transport; imbibition, osmosis, apoplast/symplast transport and guttation. Nutrient deficiency, transpiration, photosynthesis and electron transport; plant hormones, growth regulators, photoperiodism, vernalisation, nitrogen cycle and biological nitrogen fixation.
Human Physiology	Digestion/absorption, respiration, circulation, excretion, endocrine and nervous systems, skeleton and muscles, locomotion, growth, ageing and death; hormone types, functions and disorders.
Biotechnology and Applications	Recombinant DNA, GM organisms, insulin, vaccines and antibiotics; stem cells and gene therapy. Apiculture, animal husbandry, breeding, tissue culture, single-cell protein, fortification, Bt crops and transgenic animals. Microbes in food, sewage, waste and energy; biocontrol and biofertilisers; biosafety, biopiracy and patents; human/rice genome projects and DNA fingerprinting.
Biodiversity, Ecology and Environment	Ecosystem components/types, pyramids, carbon/phosphorus cycles, succession and energy flow. Biodiversity patterns, value and conservation; hotspots, endangered species, extinction, Red Data Book, botanical gardens, parks, sanctuaries, museums, biosphere reserves and Ramsar sites. Pollution control, solid/radioactive waste, climate change and mitigation; population growth, birth/death rates and age distribution.

English and Aptitude Syllabus

The combined English and Aptitude section contains 15 questions in the 2026 paper. These are shared by both routes.

Chapter Weightage and Revision Order

VIT specifies section question counts, not a guaranteed number from each chapter. The weightage guide therefore separates calculated subject shares from preparation priorities.

Start each study block with its prerequisites: vector products before three-dimensional lines and planes; organic electronic effects before reaction conversions; cell division before inheritance; current and magnetic fields before induction. Then practise the linked questions together.

The complete list above matters more than an unofficial shortlist. For example, Physics places thermodynamics inside Mechanics, Chemistry puts electrochemistry under Analytical Chemistry, and Mathematics has a separate Discrete Mathematics unit.

VITEEE Syllabus 2027 FAQs

Syllabus and Paper Choice

Are English and Aptitude optional?+

No. Both are part of MPCEA and BPCEA. The 2026 distribution assigns five questions to English and ten to Aptitude.

Does the syllabus contain only Class 12 topics?+

No. It spans higher-secondary topics across foundational and later units. Use the named topic list rather than assuming that a single Class 12 textbook covers every item.

Can I use a JEE syllabus checklist without changes?+

Several science and Mathematics topics overlap, but the VIT list includes its own specified topics and English/Aptitude. Match unit coverage before carrying over a JEE checklist, especially for discrete mathematics, material chemistry and the listed optical effects.

Should a PCMB student prepare both alternative sections?+

VITEEE permits one appearance under the 2026 rule. A PCMB student should choose MPCEA or BPCEA for the intended programme route; the paper contains Mathematics or Biology, not both 40-question sections. The chosen route also changes the programme options.
