VITEEE 2024 Question Paper and Solutions
The Mathematics-route compilation has a separate question paper and solution download. The questions are grouped by subject, so Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can be attempted separately.
VITEEE 2024 Subject-Wise Analysis
Physics
The paper includes a charged particle moving with velocity components parallel and perpendicular to a magnetic field, a meter-bridge measurement and a concave-mirror calculation. A momentum question involves three fragments, with two moving at right angles.
Chemistry
Chemistry moves between factual statements and calculations. Questions include the dissociation of phosphorus pentachloride, electron transfer in a redox reaction, molar conductivity and an enthalpy change. Inorganic questions include periodic classification and lanthanoids.
Mathematics
Mathematics includes the overlap between two sets of students, consistency of linear equations, a changing cone surface and a definite integral with a squared argument. The set question requires subtracting the common group once when finding the total studying at least one subject.
Aptitude and English
The English passage connects wealth, contentment and happiness. Questions ask for a suitable title, the meaning of an idiom and statements supported by the passage. Aptitude includes calendar-based reasoning.
The VITEEE syllabus provides the complete unit list for subject-wise revision. The topics here describe this compilation, rather than a fixed number of questions expected from each chapter.
| Subject | Topics in the compilation |
|---|
| Physics | Electrostatics, capacitance, momentum, magnetic motion and optics |
| Chemistry | Periodic trends, lanthanoids, equilibrium, redox and conductivity |
| Mathematics | Sets, linear equations, derivatives, integration and vectors |
| Aptitude | Reasoning and calendar questions |
| English | Passage title, idioms and statements about happiness and contentment |
VITEEE 2024 Paper Structure and Weightage
The 2024 examination had 125 MCQs in 150 minutes. Mathematics or Biology had 40 questions, Physics and Chemistry had 35 each, Aptitude had 10 and English had 5. The download uses Mathematics.
| Section | Questions in this compilation | Count / marks |
|---|
| Physics | 1-35 | 35 |
| Chemistry | 36-70 | 35 |
| Mathematics | 71-110 | 40 |
| Aptitude | 111-120 | 10 |
| English | 121-125 | 5 |
| Total | 1-125 | 125 |
Mathematics accounts for 32% of the compilation's marks, while Physics and Chemistry account for 28% each. Aptitude and English contribute the remaining 12%.
VITEEE 2024 Difficulty Level
Student reports described VITEEE 2024 as moderate overall. Mathematics was difficult and lengthy; Physics was moderate, and Chemistry was easy to moderate. English and Aptitude were reported as easier. These are exam-year impressions, not a difficulty score assigned to this compilation.
VITEEE 2024 Marking Scheme
The 2024 scheme awarded 1 mark per correct answer, with no negative marking. In 2026, the rule changed to +4 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong answer. The example below shows why the same attempt gives different raw totals.
| Response | 2024 rule | 2026 rule |
|---|
| Correct | +1 | +4 |
| Wrong | 0 | -1 |
| Unanswered | 0 | 0 |
| 8 correct, 1 wrong, 1 blank | 8 / 10 | 31 / 40 |
For the full 125-question paper, the maximum is 125 under the older scheme and 500 under the 2026 scheme. The VITEEE exam-pattern guide explains the paper routes and marking rules. Under the 2026 rules, marked-for-review responses scored zero and an officially dropped question earned full marks for all candidates.
Electrostatics: Distance and Dielectric Constant
In the first electrostatics question, reducing the distance to one-fifth increases the force by 25 times. The dielectric constant of 5 then reduces it to 5F. Applying only the dielectric factor would miss the change in distance.
The VITEEE preparation guide covers subject practice and mock review. For a short numerical exercise, try the original questions below on current, molarity and determinants. The answers and explanations appear after submission.
