IS THE LEGACY ENOUGH FOR PRESIDENCY?

What I Liked

GOOD PROFESSORS,AESTHETIC CAMPUS, PAN-INDIA COMMUNITY , VINTAGE BUILDINGS , AC SYSTEM IN ALL CLASSES ETC

What I didn’t like

75 PERCENT ATTENDANCE CRITERIA,OLD SYLLABUS

Placement Experience:

Placement is not enough thats true but professors always try to get students a job from their departmental campusing. 30 to 40 percent placement rate is not good enough but also not that bad . One should be working hard to build their own CV.

Remarks:

Well the main factor that inspired me like any other proud Bengali was the great legacy of this university/college. The no of maestro figures who came out of this college is splendid. Its very fortunate to study on those classes where Legends were used to sit like Netaji etc. Well the college also has a bunch of high-profiled professors and the continuation of classes is amazingly strong. I cleared the entrance test quite easily as i was the opening rank in my department.

What I Liked

I love the Campus Life more than anything. I love the faculty though

What I didn’t like

I hate canteen food . There is no option available for me as I don't like rice I didn't get any other food expect dosa

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love mathematics from childhood i found the topic of statistics interesting so I decided to study statistics and I choose this college as it was a good background in this field so I got admitted to presidency university. Yes this couse is deficult but interesting!.

Remarks:

I was looking for a good college after my 12 board exam. My brother suggest me about this college as I love mathematics I choose to give exams about math and stat paper then I got a good result I got chance in this college at 1st marit list and I was so happy after seeing that . then I got admission to presidency university.

A must try experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is overall very good. But due to faculty our experience is sometimes problematic. History department is not good enough. But one should try science departments of our college. There the faculty is very good.

Nothing special. Actually it's a good college. Good faculty overall. But the situation is something problematic now. Overall it's a good college. Specially good for chemistry, physics, mathematics, Bengali

Review of Presidency University, Kolkata

Course Curriculum Overview:

I already mentioned this but if I really have to tell this again I would say it's for the syllabus. This syllabus is so NET orientated. Students like me who have a plan for research would love to study under this course. In review of teaching method , my teachers are like my family , I can clear my doubts without any hesitation.

Remarks:

My university takes a entrance exam for admission. For graduation it called PUBDET , and for masters it called PUMDET. I chose this university because the syllabus of my subject is NET orientated which will help me in future.

One students perspective

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best part about choosing this college is the environment you get to live in. The campus with good administration with good college campus life is what we get. Everything about this University is different and interesting. Studying at a well-known university is just wow with good experience and everything a student needs, a good environment, beautiful library clean buildings, etc.

Remarks:

The academics and the name made me choose this University. No, I didn't face any group discussions at all but yes the entrance test is needed for getting admitted to this college. You can give pubdet for getting selected as a student to the presidency.

A glimpse of presi

What I Liked

Infrastructure is very good campus also nice and there is a gym for work out.

What I didn’t like

Sometimes when is monsoon the water leaks .

Placement Experience:

Thus is a research institution. So every student want to pursue a Ms phd not to get a placement after bsc. So there is no vibrant placement culture In this institution called presidency university. If anyone want with good sgpa then he can do a job of 5 to 6 lacs per annum. A good placement cell is there in the univ.

Remarks:

To enroll in this prestigious institution anyone has to give PUBDET ( presidency university undergraduate degree entrance test)exam under west bengal joint entrance exam board (wbjeeb). Minimum 70percentage in 12th in mandatory. But their is some reserved seat for some categories.

Presidency University : High quality education with vibrant campus with minimal fees

What I Liked

The atmosphere, the campus, the cleanliness, and the aesthetics of the buildings.
Helpful professors, the course curriculum.

What I didn’t like

Not much to discourage the fees you are paying and the education you are getting is just top-notch. But the student stretch is a bit high so not that much practical chances.
Sometimes the student union can ignore you or you can feel isolated from the others due to dissimilarity of opinions.

Placement Experience:

There are no such options every student goes for higher education, after the master's majority plans for PhD or company jobs, if you aim for research or professorship you must have do doctorate, it will surely help you in the future..

Remarks:

After passing the HS or the 12th exam you have to appear for the PUBDET exam which is an all-India exam. If you score and can keep yourself among the top 150 you have a high chance of getting admission.

Review of a Presidencian

What I Liked

Infrastructure is awesome and even facilities are friendly and good and there is no words to describe the college life it’s just awesome

What I didn’t like

Mainly 75% attendence is compulsory here if you are not able to attend the criteria than you are not eligible for semester exams.
Even classes time it is 10am to 5pm.This are class hours only 45 minutes break for lunch.

Placement Experience:

There are even placements in the departments of statistics, economics, geology many more departments and even internships are available in most of the departments.40 to 50% of the students get placement based on their marks and interviews.

Remarks:

The students have to qualify for the PUBDET exam entrance to be admission to this college for graduation and Master's, they have to qualify for entrance to PUMDET. The Academics are very good all the professors are very qualified and most of them are PHD holders from other countries. And all the departments are good but seats in every department are not more than 40-50.

Being a Presidencian

What I Liked

What I love about Presidency is it's political environment, and the critical thinking done by all, it really makes the political scenario around us, clear, and helps us get vocal about our rights, and teaches us how to fight for them.
The best thing about the faculty is they're not at all professionals, they're available anytime, if not on campus, then on call or Whatsapp, as I said earlier it's a student friendly environment, and even the seniors are really helpful.

What I didn’t like

There should be a medical unit, as there are frequent accidents during tournaments and matches, and in the gym.
There should be more books available in the library, and the number of books that can be borrowed at a time, should be at least 4, instead of the current limit of 2.

Placement Experience:

One has to complete their MSc to be eligible for placements. Currently, the placement cells are active in only three departments, STATISTICS, ECONOMICS, and GEOLOGY, the median package for statistics last year was 8 LPA and the highest package offered was 14 LPA. Almost 70-80% of students get placed. Companies like ICICI, AXIS BANK, ACCENTURE, PWC, and TCS, are the general recruiters.

Remarks:

It is one of the premier institutions in the country and one of the best places to major in statistics. Though we were selected based on our board marks, nowadays there's an entrance exam Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test(PUBDET). The syllabus is the maths syllabus for classes 11 and 12. One must have at least 80% overall in 12 boards, and at least 70% in maths/stats.

Going to your dream college

What I Liked

Positivity and nice guidance from every member.
Great in depth knowledge and lovely atmosphere

What I didn’t like

The semester exams take place within a short span of gap of about 4 months
The mid sem exams are taken right before the end sem

Placement Experience:

There are placement and job opportunities for the science stream only not for the art dreams however lot of internship choices are given that take place outside college but are not related to our college. Hi, I haven't participated yet but I have heard of such programs there for I mentioned here.

Remarks:

Since covered they had been no entrance exams being taken till 2023 but from 2023 entrance exams again begin for admission to Presidency University however since I entered presidency University in 2022 therefore I just had to have the minimum qualifications and the proprietary mark requirements like a good percentage in my boards to qualify for seat in presidency University.
