IIT Jodhpur offers B.Tech. in 8 specializations. Admission is based on JEE-Advance scores and JoSAA counselling. After seat allotment through JoSAA, students must pay the course fee to confirm admission.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Students must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with a 4-year program, or a master’s degree in science, MCA, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences or a related field.
• Full-time regular applicants with financial support must have a valid GATE score or must qualify the written test and/or interview held by IIT Jodhpur.
• Part-time, external and employer sponsored applicants need at least two years of work experience after the qualifying degree in industry, R&D laboratories or academic institutions at the time of program registration. They must also qualify the written test and/or interview conducted by IIT Jodhpur.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Selection Criteria

Selection is done through the GATE exam followed by COAP counselling.

COAP Registration

Students applying for M.Tech programs must also register on COAP. Applications are submitted online on the official website. The eligibility details are listed below:

• Applicants must be GATE eligible and must have a BE/BTech degree with 6.5 cumulative grade point average, or 60% for the general/unreserved category and 55% for the reserved category.
• GATE-qualified students get preference over students applying through qualifying scores in the required exam.

IIT Jodhpur runs integrated M.Tech and Ph.D. programs in 15 specializations. Admission to these programs is based on GATE scores and COAP counselling.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech.+Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Students must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or science with a 4 year program, or a master’s degree in science, MCA, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences or a related field.
• Full-time regular applicants with financial support must either have a valid GATE score or must qualify the written test and/or interview conducted by IIT Jodhpur.

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D. Admission 2026

IIT Jodhpur offers Ph.D. programs in 17 specializations across science, engineering, humanities and other categories. Admission is based on scores in the written exam and interview conducted by the institute.

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

a) Ph.D. Program (Regular)

• Students must have a master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural science, science, humanities, social sciences or management with at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. The requirement is 55% for SC/ST/PD.
• Students with MBBS with MD/MS, BVSc with MVSc, BDS with MDS, BPTh with MPTh, BOTh with MOTh or equivalent must have at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI orCGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC, and 55% for SC/ST/PD, in the bachelor’s degree.
• Students must have a bachelor’s degree of minimum four-year duration in engineering, science, medicine, pharmacy, agricultural science, veterinary science or equivalent with at least 70% marks or at least 7.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. The requirement is 65% for SC/ST/PD.

*Candidates admitted in this category shall not be registered students in any other academic program in India or abroad, and shall not be full-time or part-time employees of any organization in India or abroad.

(b) Ph.D. Program (Sponsored/External/Part-time)

• Students must have a master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural science, science, humanities, social sciences or management with at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. For SC/ST/PD, the requirement is 55% or 5.5/10 CPI or CGPA.
• Students with MBBS with MD/MS, BVSc with MVSc, BDS with MDS, BPTh with MPTh, BOTh with MOTh or equivalent must have at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC in the bachelor’s degree. For SC/ST/PD, the requirement is 55% or 5.5/10 CPI or CGPA.

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• The institute conducts a written test and interview to choose students for this program.
• After the selection process, the institute releases the list of qualified students.
• Students who have qualified GATE, UGC-NET, JRF or SLET can apply and appear directly for the interview in person.
• These students do not need to appear for the internal exam.
