IIT Jodhpur UG Admission 2026

At the UG level, IIT Jodhpur offers B.Tech in 8 specializations. The institute uses JEE Advanced scores for shortlisting, and seat allotment is completed through JoSAA counselling. A student has to pay the course fee after the counselling process to confirm the allotted seat.

• Applicants need a bachelor's degree in engineering or science of 4 years, or a master's degree in science, MCA, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences or a related field.
• Full-time regular applicants with financial support must either hold a valid GATE score or clear the written test and/or interview held by IIT Jodhpur.
• Part-time, external and employer sponsored applicants need at least two years of work experience after the qualifying degree in industry, R&D laboratories or academic institutions at the time of registration. They also have to qualify the written test and/or interview conducted by IIT Jodhpur.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Selection Criteria

M.Tech selection is done through the GATE exam and COAP counselling.

COAP Registration

For M.Tech admission, students must also register on COAP. Applications are submitted online through the official website, and the eligibility rules are listed below:

• Applicants must be GATE eligible and must have a BE/BTech degree with 6.5 cumulative grade point average, or 60% for the general/unreserved category and 55% for the reserved category.
• Applicants with valid GATE scores get preference over students applying through qualifying exam scores.

The MBA programme is offered by the School of Management & Entrepreneurship at IIT Jodhpur. For MBA admission, a student must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks, or 55% marks for SC/ST/PD candidates, and must clear the CAT cutoff.

IIT Jodhpur offers Ph.D. programmes in 17 specializations across areas such as science, engineering and humanities. Admission is based on the institute's written exam and interview. Academic record, work experience and personal interview performance are also considered. Students who have qualified GATE, NET, CSIR, UGC or SLET can apply for the Ph.D. programme.

IIT Jodhpur offers integrated M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in 15 specializations. Admission is based on GATE score followed by COAP counselling.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech.+Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

a) Ph.D. Program (Regular)

• Students must have a master's degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural science, science, humanities, social sciences or management with at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. The minimum is 55% for SC/ST/PD.
• Students with MBBS with MD/MS, BVSc with MVSc, BDS with MDS, BPTh with MPTh, BOTh with MOTh or an equivalent qualification must have at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC in the bachelor's degree. The minimum is 55% for SC/ST/PD.
• Students with a bachelor's degree of at least four years in engineering, science, medicine, pharmacy, agricultural science, veterinary science or an equivalent field must have at least 70% marks or at least 7.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. The minimum is 65% for SC/ST/PD.

*Students admitted in this category cannot be registered students in any other academic programme in India or abroad, and cannot be full-time or part-time employees of any organization in India or abroad.

(b) Ph.D. Program (Sponsored/External/Part-time)

• Students must have a master's degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural science, science, humanities, social sciences or management with at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC. For SC/ST/PD, the minimum is 55% or 5.5/10 CPI or CGPA.
• Students with MBBS with MD/MS, BVSc with MVSc, BDS with MDS, BPTh with MPTh, BOTh with MOTh or an equivalent qualification must have at least 60% marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC in the bachelor's degree. For SC/ST/PD, the minimum is 55% or 5.5/10 CPI or CGPA.

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• IIT Jodhpur conducts a written test and interview for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
• After the process, the institute releases the list of qualified students.
• Students who have qualified GATE, UGC-NET, JRF or SLET can apply and attend the interview in person.
• Such students do not have to appear for the institute's internal exam.
