VPKBIET Courses and Fees

VPKBIET runs BE, BE Lateral Entry, and ME programmes. Direct first-year BE admission has a combined approved intake of 900 seats across seven branches. Entry into the second year is also offered in these branches to eligible diploma holders. The course requirements, duration, and General Quota fees are given below.

The four-year BE fee under the Management Quota is INR 6,92,996. Management Quota seats are offered in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

VPKBIET Admission Process

VPKBIET uses Maharashtra’s counselling system for most engineering admissions. BE first-year applicants compete for 85% of seats through CAP, and the institute directly fills the other 15% under the Management Quota.

BE First Year Admission

• Step 1, check eligibility: Applicants must complete 10+2, HSC, or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The minimum combined score is 45%, reduced to 40% for reserved categories.
• Step 2, take an entrance test: A valid score in the PCM group of MHT-CET or JEE Main Paper 1 is required.
• Step 3, complete CAP: The process includes online registration, verification of documents, submission of the option form, seat allocation over two rounds, and reporting to the allotted college.
• Step 4, consider branch cutoffs: Required MHT-CET percentiles change by branch. Among popular SPPU colleges in the Pune region, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science usually have higher percentile bands.

A JEE Main score may be used instead of MHT-CET for Government Quota admission. NRI and OCI applicants can seek direct admission through the institute’s NRI Quota under SPPU rules.

BE Lateral Entry

Applicants with a diploma in a related engineering discipline may join the second year of BE directly. They need at least 45% marks in the diploma and a valid MHT-CET Lateral Entry or equivalent JEE Lateral Entry score.

ME Admission

State applicants may use Maharashtra PGCET, which means the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test, while GATE scores apply to central government seats. Candidates need a relevant BE or B.Tech degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. The requirement is 45% for reserved categories. ME seats are assigned through Maharashtra state counselling for postgraduate engineering.

VPKBIET Placements

The Training and Placement Cell manages recruitment with companies from IT, manufacturing, and core engineering. Placement totals rose from 295 in 2023-24 to 356 in 2024-25. The ongoing 2025-26 drive has produced 313 offers so far.

Institute figures submitted to NIRF show a median salary of INR 4.25 LPA for students graduating in 2023-24. The top package in 2024 was INR 10.36 LPA. Computer-related programmes generally report stronger average packages. In 2025, Computer Engineering recorded an average of INR 4.47 LPA, compared with INR 4.44 LPA for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Bharat Forge, Walchand Industries, and TE Connectivity are among the major recruiters. Companies in the Baramati industrial belt also hire Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students each year for manufacturing roles.

VPKBIET Scholarships

Students from reserved groups and economically weaker households may apply for state or central support. Eligibility and financial benefits vary across the available schemes.

SC, ST, OBC, EBC, NT, and SBC students have made up a notable part of VPKBIET’s enrolment. NIRF figures for a recent academic year show that more than 463 undergraduate students received full fee reimbursement.

VPKBIET Campus and Infrastructure
