JSPM’s Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering (RSCOE) Tathawade began operations in 2001 as a private engineering institute. It belongs to the JSPM network, which has six campuses across Maharashtra. The institute is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), has AICTE approval and holds NAAC Grade A accreditation. Several undergraduate departments also have NBA accreditation.

Because RSCOE is autonomous, it can revise its curriculum every year instead of waiting for changes from SPPU. The Computer Science and Business Systems programme combines engineering with business analytics and has been developed jointly with industry partners.

RSCOE Tathawade Admission Process

Admission to the regular B.Tech programme is managed through the DTE Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process, commonly called CAP. The college does not hold a separate B.Tech entrance examination.

Regular B.Tech and Institute Level Admission

  • Students must complete 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry, Biotechnology or Biology. They need at least 45% aggregate marks in PCM, reduced to 40% for reserved categories.
  • Maharashtra domicile students can qualify through MHT CET, while candidates applying under the all-India route can use JEE Main.
  • 80% of the seats are allotted through DTE Maharashtra CAP on cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • RSCOE fills 15% Institute Level seats directly according to MHT CET or JEE Main merit.
  • The remaining 5% are TFWS seats for students whose annual family income is below INR 8 lakh.

Applicants first take MHT CET or JEE Main and register for CAP. They then complete document verification, submit their college and branch choices, receive a seat allotment and report for admission. Candidates seeking Institute Level seats must apply directly to RSCOE and are considered in merit order.

For the General Open category, the MHT CET 2026 Round 1 closing percentile across RSCOE branches was between 91.96 and 97.3. Computer Engineering and IT usually reach the upper part of this range, whereas Civil and Electrical Engineering generally close at lower percentiles.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

  • A relevant engineering diploma with at least 45% marks is required. The minimum is 40% for reserved-category students.

RSCOE Tathawade Campus and Infrastructure

RSCOE is located at Ashok Nagar, Tathawade, within Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area. Hinjewadi IT Park is nearby, connecting the campus with the region’s technology corridor.

Each department has its own laboratories, and the institute can update these facilities in line with its autonomous curriculum. Other resources include department-specific computer labs, a central library and sports facilities. The JSPM trust appoints faculty directly without depending on SPPU requirements.
