MCOE Admission Dates 2027

The expected schedule for the 2027-28 admission cycle covers MHT CET registration, the entrance examination, and the DTE Maharashtra CAP rounds.

MCOE Courses and Fees

MCOE has a total intake of 960 seats across its 9 B.Tech specialisations. It also offers lateral entry B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and PhD programmes. Every B.Tech branch follows the same fee structure, with an annual fee of INR 1,27,342 and a four-year total of INR 5,09,368.

The B.Tech options are Computer Engineering, CSE, AI and Machine Learning, AI and Data Science, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. At the M.Tech level, students can choose Computer Engineering, Control Systems, Heat Power, or Signal Processing.

MCOE Admission Process

Admission requirements and selection methods differ by programme. Most seats are allotted through the relevant DTE Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process, commonly called CAP, while MCOE directly fills its Institute Level seats.

Entrance Exams and Admission Routes

B.Tech Admission

Maharashtra domicile applicants are selected using MHT CET ranks, while candidates applying for All India seats use JEE Main ranks. DTE Maharashtra fills 80% of the seats through CAP. MCOE fills another 15% as Institute Level seats on merit, based on a valid MHT CET or JEE Main score.

• Complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. General category applicants need an aggregate of at least 45%, while reserved category applicants need 40%.
• For government quota seats, Maharashtra domicile students use their MHT CET rank and All India applicants use their JEE Main rank. Counselling is conducted through cetcell.mahacet.org.
• For the 15% Institute Level seats, apply through moderncoe.edu.in after each CAP round using a valid MHT CET or JEE Main score.
• The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme covers 5% of the intake and waives the full tuition fee. The applicant’s parental income must be below INR 8 LPA.
• Diploma holders seeking entry to the second year must have studied a relevant branch. Selection takes place through MAH DIPLOMA CET counselling conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

Under Maharashtra state scholarship schemes, SC and ST students pay no tuition fee. The final 5% of seats are available to NRI or OCI candidates at a different fee rate. A separate institute-level entrance test is not held for the 80% CAP seats.

M.Tech, MBA, and MCA Admission

Applicants to M.Tech must hold a B.Tech degree in the relevant branch with at least 50% marks. During the DTE Maharashtra PG CAP process, preference is given to candidates who have qualified GATE.

For MBA admission, applicants need a bachelor’s degree and a valid MAH MBA CET, CAT, CMAT, or MAT score. MCA applicants must have studied Mathematics in their bachelor’s degree and qualify through MAH MCA CET. The relevant DTE Maharashtra PG CAP rounds are used for both programmes.

MCOE Placements

During the 2025 placement season, MCOE recorded a highest package of INR 9 LPA. The average salary was between INR 4 LPA and INR 5 LPA, and 291 students secured offers. Computer Engineering and Information Technology had the highest placement activity.

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students receive opportunities in manufacturing, energy, and automation. Placement timelines for these core sectors may continue after the college’s main recruitment season.

The college has self-reported these placement figures, and they have not yet been included in NIRF-verified reporting for this cycle.

MCOE Scholarships

MCOE students can apply for scholarships and fee concessions according to their social category, household income, and academic record.

Government scholarship applications are submitted through the Maharashtra Scholarship Portal or the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in. Students who meet the conditions must apply by the deadline announced by the Social Welfare Department for that academic year.

MCOE Campus and Infrastructure

MCOE is situated inside the Progressive Education Society campus complex at Shivaji Nagar, Pune, near the city centre. Facilities include separate department laboratories for all 9 B.Tech branches, computing laboratories, an innovation hub, a central library, and seminar halls.

The college does not provide an on-campus hostel. Students generally find private housing in Shivaji Nagar, Deccan Gymkhana, and nearby localities. From this central location, students can use public transport to reach industry offices and Pune’s IT corridors in Kharadi and Hinjewadi.

MCOE vs PCCOE vs VIT Pune

MCOE, Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE), and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT Pune) are Pune-based private engineering colleges connected with SPPU. Applicants appearing for MHT CET may consider all three through the common DTE Maharashtra CAP applicant pool.

Of the three institutions, MCOE has the highest NAAC grade at A++. PCCOE and VIT Pune have campus hostels, which may help students coming from outside Pune. Established in 1983, VIT Pune has the longest history of the three and an alumni presence in Pune’s IT sector.
