DYPCOE Pune Courses and Fees

D.Y. Patil College of Engineering offers 16 UG degree programmes, made up of 8 BE and 8 B.Tech programmes in the same disciplines. It also offers M.Tech in 6 specialisations and Ph.D in 3 disciplines. For all BE and B.Tech branches, the 4-year government quota fee is INR 5,82,000.

DYPCOE offers M.Tech specialisations in Automation and Robotics, Computer Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Embedded System and VLSI Design, Environmental Engineering, and Mechanical Design. Management quota fees are different from the government quota fee structure, so students should confirm them directly with the college.

DYPCOE Pune Admission Process

Admission at DYPCOE depends on the programme and seat type. BE government quota seats are filled through DTE Maharashtra CAP, management quota seats are handled by the college, BE Lateral Entry is through the MHT-CET DSE CAP route, and M.Tech admission is through the DTE Maharashtra PG Engineering CAP route using GATE scores.

BE Admission - Government Quota (CAP Route)

80% of BE seats at DYPCOE are allotted through the DTE Maharashtra Centralized Admission Process. Students must have passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognised board. The minimum required marks are 45% for Open category students and 40% for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD category students. A valid MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026 score is also needed.

The CAP route includes these steps:

• Register on the cetcell.mahacet.org portal using the MHT-CET or JEE Main scorecard
• Complete document verification at the assigned facilitation centre
• Enter college and branch choices during CAP choice filling
• Check the seat allotment result and pay the seat acceptance fee
• Report to DYPCOE Akurdi with original documents before the allotment deadline

For MHT-CET 2026, the DYPCOE GOPENS closing percentile was between 94.42 and 98.13 percentile across branches. Computer Engineering and IT were at the higher end of this range.

BE Admission - Management Quota

20% of BE seats are available through the management quota. MHT-CET or JEE Main score is not required for this route. Students need Class 12 PCM with at least 45% marks. Lateral Entry and M.Tech Admission

BE Lateral Entry is a 3-year option for Diploma holders. The required minimum is 50%, or 45% for reserved category students, and admission is through the MHT-CET DSE CAP process. M.Tech applicants need BE or B.Tech in a relevant discipline with at least 50% and a valid GATE score, followed by DTE Maharashtra PG Engineering CAP.

DYPCOE Pune Placements

DYPCOE placement figures are based on its NIRF 2025 submission. In the 2023-24 UG graduating batch, 616 out of 701 students were placed and the median salary stood at INR 4.50 LPA. Among the reported years, the 2021-22 batch had the highest UG median salary at INR 4.80 LPA, with 721 placements from 826 graduates.

M.Tech placements were stronger in 2023-24. Out of 29 students, 28 were placed, and the median salary was INR 6.00 LPA. DYPCOE’s Akurdi location connects it with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Manufacturing Cluster, one of India’s largest industrial zones, where companies such as Bajaj Auto, Bharat Forge, Thermax, and Fiserv operate nearby.

Computer Engineering and IT attract the highest campus recruitment demand. The industrial area around Akurdi also supports placement options for core branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics.

DYPCOE Pune Scholarships

DYPCOE students can apply for Maharashtra state and central government scholarships through the MahaDBT portal. SC and ST students can get full tuition fee waivers through the Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship scheme if they meet the rules.

State scholarship applications are handled on the Maharashtra Scholarship Portal at mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in. DYPCOE’s fee system allows government scholarship amounts to be adjusted directly against student dues.

DYPCOE Pune Campus and Infrastructure

D.Y. Patil College of Engineering is in Akurdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, within the Pune Metropolitan Region. Akurdi is an important part of the PCMC industrial belt and has access to the Pune-Mumbai Highway and Akurdi railway station.

The campus has NBA-accredited laboratories for Computer Engineering, IT, Civil, and Electronics and Telecom departments. In 2023, the college reported 24 patents published and 6 patents granted. During 2023-24, it had 16 sponsored research projects worth INR 18.35 Lakhs. UG and M.Tech students use engineering workshops and advanced computing labs.

Hostels are available for boys at up to INR 60,000 per year and for girls at up to INR 55,000 per year. The campus also has a library with digital resources, sports grounds, a gymnasium, and a canteen. More than 80% of DYPCOE buildings have lift and ramp access for physically challenged students.

DYPCOE Akurdi vs PCCOE Akurdi vs Sinhgad College of Engineering

Students looking at private SPPU-affiliated engineering colleges in the Pune-PCMC region often compare DYPCOE with PCCOE Akurdi and Sinhgad College of Engineering. All three are AICTE-approved private colleges affiliated with SPPU and take students from the DTE Maharashtra CAP applicant pool.

PCCOE has NAAC A+ accreditation, while DYPCOE has NAAC A. Both colleges are in Akurdi. Sinhgad College of Engineering started in 1996, so it has a longer history and an alumni base across Pune’s IT and manufacturing sectors. DYPCOE stands out in the Akurdi area for programmes such as Robotics and Automation and AI and Data Science. Students with MHT-CET scores above 95 percentile can consider all three, depending on the branch they get.
