Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune, established in 2002, is a premier private institution affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). It holds an “A” grade accreditation by NAAC and is approved by both UGC and AICTE. In the VIIT Ranking 2024, NIRF placed VIIT in the 151-200 band out of 300 engineering colleges, and VIIT was ranked 110th out of 125 engineering colleges by the Times of India in the same year.
VIIT offers BTech as its flagship program with various specializations. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational subjects from a recognized board. General category candidates must secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks, while reserved category candidates require at least 40%. The final selection is based on scores from JEE Main or MHT CET entrance examinations. In 2024, the MHT CET Round 1 cutoff for BTech IT was 98.36 percentile. VIIT Placement 2024 concluded successfully, with the highest package of INR 44 LPA offered by Amazon, followed by the second-highest package of INR 35 LPA from Works Application, Japan. Top recruiters included Amazon, Amdocs, Accenture, Bosch, Emerson, Mahindra, Siemens, and Wiley, among others.
