Undergraduates join one multidisciplinary programme and later graduate with a BA (Hons.) or B.Sc (Hons.). Students choose their major during the degree, except high scorers in the Ashoka Mathematics Challenge, who receive a confirmed place in their selected Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics major.
The curriculum contains Foundation, Major and Co-Curricular courses. Students complete any 7 Foundation Courses during the first 3 semesters, then choose a Pure or Interdisciplinary Major. They may also combine a major with a minor.

Every applicant writes a 30-minute On-the-Spot Essay in English by choosing one of two prompts. The second compulsory component is either the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment or the Ashoka Mathematics Challenge, selected while completing the form.

Developed with Cambridge, the Aptitude Assessment contains 20 problem-solving and 20 critical-thinking questions. The Mathematics Challenge follows the Class 11 and 12 CBSE and ISC mathematics standard. Test centres operate in more than 40 cities, and applicants select preferred cities in the form.
SAT, ACT, CUET and JEE Main scores may be submitted as optional evidence, but they do not replace Ashoka's compulsory assessments.

Class 11 and 12 mathematics completed through a regular board, NIOS or a recognised online route meets the Mathematics Challenge condition. Students using the Aptitude Assessment can later enter Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics by clearing departmental gateway courses. A humanities student without Class 12 mathematics may apply for BA (Hons.) Economics.
UG selection process
- Application: Enter personal and family information, Class 10 to 12 results, non-academic activities and a personal essay. Recommendations and standardised scores are optional.
- Assessments: Complete the On-the-Spot Essay and either the Aptitude Assessment or Mathematics Challenge on the assigned date.
- Interview: Shortlisted students meet a panel that uses their essay and activity record to guide the discussion.
- Decision: The outcome may be a confirmed or conditional offer, waitlist, deferral or denial.
No numerical weightage is published for these stages. Academic results are considered in relation to the applicant's board, school and circumstances. A conditional offer usually becomes firm after the final Class 12 result is uploaded. Financial-aid decisions depend only on need.

Ashoka University PG Admission 2027
The postgraduate options include the two-year residential MA in Economics and MA in English, the one-year full-time residential MA in Economics and Data Analytics, and MA Liberal Studies. Liberal Studies admission is limited to Young India Fellowship graduates who hold a Liberal Studies diploma and have a faculty member's approval to join a particular research project as a graduate assistant.

MA Economics does not require Class 12 mathematics. Its objective test has compulsory Statistics and Analytical Reasoning sections, followed by the applicant's choice of Mathematics or Economics. Ashoka Economics majors and interdisciplinary Economics and Finance majors with a CGPA of 3.6 or above are eligible for direct admission.
Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics provide useful backgrounds for MA Economics and Data Analytics, though other degrees are accepted. MA English applicants choose between two essay prompts before an interview about their background and reading.
Ashoka BA English graduates may enter the one-year Ashoka Scholars Programme and study Advanced English. Its coursework and thesis count towards the MA English degree, so a second thesis is not required after joining the MA.

The form asks for biographical details, three written essays and one video essay. Ashoka University Cutoff

Remarks:
the reason I chose ashoka was it's good reputation for economics. The process started with an application form that included an SOP and the application fee was rs 1000 as far as I remember. Following this, there was an online exam wherein apart from the compulsory sections, we had to attempt either maths or economics. If you clear this, you'd receive a mail for interview and then the final offer.

The excellent faculty, placement cell and the around about education that the course provides with a taste of everything was something that drew me into the course and the university. It has excellent student support systems such as the ACWB, Center for Entrepreneurship and CSGS. These centres highlight the importance of the liberal education that Ashoka as an institution is providing. With that, the financial aid that the university provides enhances the overall experience by bringing in students from various backgrounds and making the classroom much more enriching. The Young India fellowship has various courses such as Advance group dynamics, Public policy, Visual storytelling and cinematic Narratives, Shakespeare and the world, Khayal and the Trajectory of Hindustani classical music, such courses which are not provided by any institution across the Indian subcontinent. The course structure and the format make the pedagogy interesting and very student-friendly.

Remarks:
The main reason for me choosing this college was its different pedagogy than other Indian Colleges. Ashoka University is a liberal arts college which means the students can choose what they want to study and choose their trajectory. I had to submit the application form which included two essays, and other things about my profile like extra curriculars, etc. After that, I got the call for a written test, which included an aptitude test and an on-the-spot essay. Post this, I got a call for an interview, after which I was offered admission to this university, so there is an overall holistic approach rather than a solely merit-based one. SAT scores are also accepted, and in that case, the better of the two is considered. Because of the holistic admission process, there is no cut-off as such. Talking to seniors on LinkedIn helped me a lot in preparing for all of this.

It is one of the best Liberal institutes in India, at par to an Ivy league The geography was a small disadvantage for me due to the isolation from civilization and lack of options The process was a submission of a comprehensive SOP and a complete portfolio of academic and extra curricular talents once shortlisted, and interview is held comprising of an aptitude test, on spot essay writing and general one-on-one interview process There is a very good merit + background based scholarship open to avail for every candidate

My decision for picking Ashoka was based on the fact this is one of the fastest-rising, and most unique educational startups in the country. The university is based on the idea of a Liberal Arts education (for the uninitiated, it doesn't mean just a humanistic education, but rather a model focusing on an interdisciplinary and critical thinking approach) the admission was similarly via an all-around application involving application essay, extracurriculars, interview, a non-competitive aptitude test, et cetera)
