Loreto College, Kolkata is the most prestigious college in Kolkata established in 1912. It has backed 75th position in the NIRF ranking. It offers education in different domains at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Besides this, it also offers a B.Ed in English.

Candidates who are willing to take admission in UG courses have to secure plausible marks in the qualifying examination.
An entrance exam is held for the students who want to pursue B.Ed which is conducted by the college itself.

Loreto College offers BA, BA (Hons), BSc and BSc (Hons) at the undergraduate level in different specialisations

Eligibility Criteria

For BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) candidates have to secure a minimum of 60% marks in 10 + 2 board examinations from any recognised board in an equivalent stream or subject.
For general BA and BSc, applicants have to score at least 50% in their 10+2 board examination from any recognised board in an equivalent subject or stream.

Selection Criteria

Selection in an undergraduate course is merit-based i.e marks obtained in their respective qualifying examination.

Loreto College PG Admissions 2024

Loreto College, Kolkata offers only one course at the postgraduate level which is a 2 years program. It offers a Master of Arts in English

Eligibility criteria

Candidates are required to score 50% marks in their Bachelor’s degree in English.

Selection process

Merit-based admission is done for this course.
Selection is through marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by Loreto College, Kolkata.

Loreto College, Kolkata also offers a B.Ed, a 2 years degree program which is basically a mandatory degree for some specific competitive exams in the Teaching domain. College offers this program in three subjects in which English is compulsory one.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to score plausible marks in their 10+2 board examination from any recognised board.
Candidates who have a BA or MA degree are eligible to apply for B.Ed in this college.

All you need to know about Loreto College

What I Liked

The most important is Faculty and then Time schedule and classes.
Also the interactive seminars and workshops.

What I didn’t like

The long time schedule and infastructure where we have to sit in the 5th floor in the scorching heat wave.
The coercion for participation after College programs which takes a toll on students.

Remarks:

The Faculty members are knowledgeable and know their subjects well. Regular classes, Interactive sessions and weekly internal examination. responsibly finishes syllabus and makes you prepare for exams from beforehand.

My review about my College.

What I Liked

Atmosphere and surroundings are very good.
Campus food is really very delicious as a meal.

What I didn’t like

There is nothing much to dislike but I personally feel that exam theh should tell us exams fixture earlier.

Remarks:

My college is good on every basis. I got my admission here because it's a good institute for learning. When I got admission here I gave an interview for admission purposes. and the criteria you have to get at least 60 % in 12th boards.

The best college for girls in Kolkata

What I Liked

The teacher faculty is outstanding.. Everybody is very knowledgeable and helpful.

What I didn’t like

The campus life was not that great.. Strict rules are there.You have to follow them.

Remarks:

This college is very well known in the city for its glory, discipline and decorum. When I saw my name on the merit list. I just took admission without giving it a second thought. This is under CU. So no written test will be taken. The selection will be on your 12th board result.

My beautiful college

What I Liked

Our faculty is very helpful and very knowledgeable. Our campus is very aesthetic.
Our college encourages us to participate is various events and our annual fest is so much fun.

What I didn’t like

It’s a morning + day college so you have to get into the college in 8:30 so it’s hard to wake up at 5 every day as I live far.
You have a website where you have your attendance sheet and the attendance is maintained very strictly. So you just can’t bunk college even if you need to.

Remarks:

The faculty is very good. They held a short interview for the admission. They will guide you well. Also the atmosphere is very good and aesthetic. The classrooms are airy and beautiful. The teachers will treat you very well.
