Vidyasagar college- The college in which I studied

What I Liked

I liked the faculty of the college, all of them were well mannerd and highly qualified
The infrastructure of the college is very good including lab infrastructurs, library, etc

What I didn’t like

The teaching style is very traditional, new methods of learning like digital boards need to be introduced
The groud size is very small, providing very less space for tournaments

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is very up to date and it helps for job oppurtunities, all the faculties of the college are doctorate and very qualified, the exams were held twice a year making 6 exams in 3 year course and the difficulty level was moderate

Remarks:

I chose this college as this is a very reputed college under University of Calcutta and also the college provides good oppurtunities in tge real eorld, admission is done through merit based on class 12 board results

What I Liked

I really like my college campus and college canteen. The college students behaviour is too much good. There was a good canteen and the canteen food quality is too much good.
Our Collage have not any ragging issue. Our campus is truly ragging free. And our Collage toilet and cleaning is too much good. Our college have Water purifier in every floor By this, the student always Get good water.

What I didn’t like

There is A big issue of teacher, faculty in our college. In our science department, there are only five teacher. And the Computer science lab room We have a shortage of proper elements.

Placement Experience:

Sorry to say that our College does have not a good Placement criterion. But sometimes, TCS Wipro comes to our college for placement Or internship. But they also need a higher result. My plan after the degree is to get in touch with TCS or Wipro. I also do the M Tech or MSC after the degree.

Remarks:

The college is made by the legend sir Vidyasagar. And it’s a high-rated college in Kolkata. The Computer Science Department Is ranked number 6 in Calcutta University. So, I prefer College for my education. And the Call location is too good.

What I Liked

Good faculty,very supportive,very co-operative and efficient professors who make the subject interesting
Interactive lectures along with good lab facilities

What I didn’t like

Free sanitary napkin services should be initiated,because the machine didn't work during our time
Development should be done in the old building of the campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

All the students who are a maximum of 18 years of age are eligible for the Kanyashree scholarship, a State government initiative where an amount of 25000 rupees is given one time. Good lab and faculty experienced lab instructors. Clean classrooms.

Remarks:

Good lab facilities, good faculty, green environment, perfect location from the nearest metro as well as the nearest railway station. Good hostel facilities. Good food from the canteen. Interactive lectures.

Placement Experience:

there was no campus placement in this college but they teach us well to crack any exam job They give us a good and sincere plan for future placements the teachers are too friendly. That's it but there are no campus placements.

This college was totally good there were nice teachers and many of my friends were already there that why i joined that college and the faculty is really good everyone is nice my classmates and other friends there

Unbiased insights into life at Vidyasagar College

What I Liked

One good this about this college is the good campus environment it provides along with well maintained canteen & management facilities. All government aided scholarships & opportunities are mostly taken care of by the faculty & office which makes the process a lot easier. The college never slacks at maintaining it's heritage & cultural values. The environment is reputably good & student friendly
Another good thing to be mentioned are the exceptionally good & helpful professors who always guide us in the best way possible & never hesitate in helping us academically in every possible manner. They even take extra classes in non-official hours to make sure that we can excel in what we do.

What I didn’t like

One thing that everyone dislikes about this college is the extremely poor infrastructure which has been that way for decades.
Another thing the a lot of people dislike is the fee payment system. This college charges thousands of unnecessary extra fee on top of the mandatory university fees. As a government institute this shouldn't be as much as it is. This college fee keep hiking year after year & semester after semester. The fee payment only occurs through online portal which mostly doesn't work at a go. Many people lose their money due to this phenomenon & extra payment. Although there is a provision for refund but in reality the money is never refunded & people slowly forget about it while the institute gets to make heaps of unethical funds. Moreover, the university usually provides us a week of time for the fee payment while the college only gives us only 1 certain day for the payment & there is no system for any kind of help in case a defaulter happens, both the college's cash office & bank refuse to address the matter in case of any problem with fee payment. They no lomges accept cash payment.

Placement Experience:

All the students with fairly recognizable CGPA/SGPA are provided with numerous opportunities for placement & additional certifications from various companies & even other universities. The professors themselves provide us with all of this information at regular intervals. Some of the visited recruiters are from Presidency University, Computer Wizards, etc. Although no guaranteed package or placement is provided one can expect the same time to be around 3.2 lacs per annum initially.

Remarks:

I had chosen this college since it's one of the colleges that hold an exceptionally good reputation in Biology honors courses & is known for its guidance. The cutoff was nominal with above 75% marks in the subject in which the honors are to be taken & the overall percentage is to be taken into consideration as well. The admission part was pretty easy & without hassle, once you're name gets shortlisted, you can pay the fee through an online portal & then your respective department's Head's contact is provided to you, who helps you get started with everything. There hasn't been any entrance exam for it.

A pretty overview about my college.

What I Liked

Firstly my English department is so good . I love their teaching style and they are very helpful.
They organised seminar on different topics and it is very helpful for students.

What I didn’t like

There are some staff in our college and they are so rude.
The area of sports ground is too short .

Placement Experience:

As I'm doing a general course so there are no facility about placement or something and I don't have any idea about others department but somedays ago my college organised a interview session for our senior to get job but I don't have any detail information about it .

Remarks:

It is a good college in every aspect.No I didn't face any group discussion, interview or written teste for addmission, the addmission was totally based on last board exam's number.They were judging people by their marks .

My review of college

What I Liked

Faculty quite good as some of them are student friendly.
The course designing is good as it provides student with good time but having time to time exams

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure is seriously lacking
Job opportunities and placements should be another sector

Placement Experience:

There are no placements or job opportunities provided by the college currently for this course. After getting my degree I will be pursuing my masters and then I will think of job opportunities from the institution from where I will be passing out.

Remarks:

The admission process in this college is based on the result of the 12th standard board exams. Usually cut-off was around 80% in the 12th standard exams. The college has some good faculties which actually help in the academic progress

Vidyasagar College Review

What I Liked

Firstly, I like the faculties of this college. They are well skilled and experienced teachers.
Secondly, The campus is really big enough. There are two playgrounds in this college so that students can play there.

What I didn’t like

The classrooms are not well clean. The fans and lights sometimes don't work.
The washroom is not clean enough. The basins are dirty and the taps never works.

Placement Experience:

For placement you should complete the graduation with good marks. You can get the package under 4-5 lakhs per annum. I plan to get placement in Zoology section if I get the opportunity. Otherwise this college is good.

Remarks:

The college was well renowned for their education. I took admission from its official website. The eligibility criteria for the admission were that the student should be 12th passed and scored atleast 60% to pass on the cut-off. There were no such interviews or exams you just have to fill the form and wait for the merit list to check your name and then do the next procedure which is payment of fees.
