- One good this about this college is the good campus environment it provides along with well maintained canteen & management facilities. All government aided scholarships & opportunities are mostly taken care of by the faculty & office which makes the process a lot easier. The college never slacks at maintaining it's heritage & cultural values. The environment is reputably good & student friendly
- Another good thing to be mentioned are the exceptionally good & helpful professors who always guide us in the best way possible & never hesitate in helping us academically in every possible manner. They even take extra classes in non-official hours to make sure that we can excel in what we do.
Dislikes
- One thing that everyone dislikes about this college is the extremely poor infrastructure which has been that way for decades.
- Another thing the a lot of people dislike is the fee payment system. This college charges thousands of unnecessary extra fee on top of the mandatory university fees. As a government institute this shouldn't be as much as it is. This college fee keep hiking year after year & semester after semester. The fee payment only occurs through online portal which mostly doesn't work at a go. Many people lose their money due to this phenomenon & extra payment. Although there is a provision for refund but in reality the money is never refunded & people slowly forget about it while the institute gets to make heaps of unethical funds. Moreover, the university usually provides us a week of time for the fee payment while the college only gives us only 1 certain day for the payment & there is no system for any kind of help in case a defaulter happens, both the college's cash office & bank refuse to address the matter in case of any problem with fee payment. They no lomges accept cash payment.
Remarks :
I had chosen this college since it's one of the colleges that hold an exceptionally good reputation in Biology honors courses & is known for its guidance. The cutoff was nominal with above 75% marks in the subject in which the honors are to be taken & the overall percentage is to be taken into consideration as well. The admission part was pretty easy & without hassle, once you're name gets shortlisted, you can pay the fee through an online portal & then your respective department's Head's contact is provided to you, who helps you get started with everything. There hasn't been any entrance exam for it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had chosen the course for its vast range of applications along with further studies & research scopes. The faculty has been very helpful & strict, being sincere & easily manageable at the same time. One drawback to be mentioned is that they're pretty non-cooperative when it comes to Project & Practical written works which are not instructed about beforehand & chaos happens just before exams regarding this which tends to hamper the grades. The semesters are no issue but the internal assessments are conducted too abruptly & the exam is thrice as tough as semester's. Every year there is an unconventional fee hike & the college charges a huge amount of extra unrequired fees on top of university fees every semester, which is not affordable for many. Also when the university gives enough time for fee payment, the college only provides 1 day for it to be done & accepted. Financial assistance isn't granted & only eligible government scholarships are aided.
Internships Opportunities :
Till now no internship opportunities are provided by the college, you can only gather certifications. The college only deals with providing the degree but usually no internships or placements are provided.
Placement Experience :
All the students with fairly recognizable CGPA/SGPA are provided with numerous opportunities for placement & additional certifications from various companies & even other universities. The professors themselves provide us with all of this information at regular intervals. Some of the visited recruiters are from Presidency University, Computer Wizards, etc. Although no guaranteed package or placement is provided one can expect the same time to be around 3.2 lacs per annum initially.
Campus Life :
The life on the campus is good. Annual fest, Saraswati puja, Sports events, etc, are conducted every year for which enthusiasm & healthy competitiveness can be easily noticed. Many popular artists are invited to perform at our fests & we're able to enjoy to our heart's content, relieving ourselves from the everyday academic pressure and helping us make new friends & socialize without hassle. Most required books & journals are easily available either in the department itself or in the library. Many a time when any such isn't available at all, the professors make sure to provide it to us from their sources either in digital or hard copy. Various sports events are conducted in which recognition & prizes are well-allocated. We also have a confession & cultural arts page on social media platforms, run by students. The canteen is very good with varieties of food items (both cooked & processed)

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
