What I Liked

The only thing i like about is the value of the course i am doing as it is in itself a blessing
Faculties are very knowledgeable and helpful

What I didn’t like

The campus as such is not big enough to enjoy
Infrastructures need to be improved the building looks like any other buildings of government offices

Placement Experience:

There is compulsory intership of 1 year. Where we are posted in different departments for different time. There is no on campus placement but after completion of course there are numerous job opportunities present or you can opt for higher studies too

Internships Opportunities:

We are not yet opted for internship but have been posted in different departments like surgery, medicine, ENT, Derma, Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, etc. We get to know hands on experience and also go to OPDs to know the patient in real life

College of my choice

Placement Experience:

There is a necessary internship for every student to perform after the completion of final year of MBBS for 1 year for which they are paid about 25-30 k which is increasing . The job placements are very good too , students gets placed to the nearby government hospitals .

Internships Opportunities:

In the MBBS course curriculum there is a necessary need to work as an intern after 4.5 years of medical study and work in the hospital for 1 year . There is consequent stipend which is increasing which now is 25k .

What I Liked

Infrastructure is pretty good as compared to other colleges of chandigarh ,
Faculty is very qualified and they are all docters and specialits in their respective branch ..

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure of hostel is little bit messed up ..sonit should be improved beeter ..
Some faculty is very rude and they don't listen to students..

Placement Experience:

Placement is high but most of student persue higher education.placement is hight ,usually on interview basis youbgot selected and salary is pretty descent approx 110000/- rs per month ..I will persue post graduation after mbbs and I will get arround 1 lakh-1,50,000/- rs per month during my post graduation degree ,it's stipend ,which is pretty good..

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is compulsory for mbbs students and we get around 30,000/- per month..and internship is help by college campus only and we learns so many things ..we learn practical aspects of degree in that one year of internship which is after 4.5 years of degree

The medical life

What I Liked

I like the college campus and infrastructure.
Teaching method of faculty and their dedication . I also like clinical postings.

What I didn’t like

i don’t really like hostel mess food as i expect of more varieties.
I think more shops should be there in hostel premises.

Placement Experience:

No placements are there, since it’s a medical college. After 4 years of college we do internship for 365 days and we are given salary of 30000 per month. After that we will appear for PG exam and we chose a specialisation.

Internships Opportunities:

No, we are provided with internship. We will complete our internship and will appear in PG exam. We will choose our specialisation that can be anything clinical and non clinical. After that we will complete our residency.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4-4.5 years of academic you get the internship of onee year in the same college and after completing the internship you need to write NEET PG exam , on the basis of this you get seat into PG courses depending on the ranks

Internships Opportunities:

Compulsory internship of one year in all departments in the same college. During internship you get on hand practice and experience of the things which you studied on the textbooks.

There is a Mandatory internship of one year for in mbbs degree, it is an extensive internship experience, we have to perform duties in various departments and we get to learn various clinical and surgical techniques and methods, stipend is pretty decent (26000)

Doctor's lite life

What I Liked

Faculty is mostly doctors reading from pre prepared slides. Campus is good and the infrastructure is good too.
The fests are good. Also it is mentioned there is a gym but actually there is no gym there is a TT table instead

What I didn’t like

Attendance system is pretty strict. The washrooms are good but need maintainence
The common room needs more development. Also a gym is required

Placement Experience:

Placement is based on your NEET PG rank. Overall graduates from here score pretty decent ranks. Also, you can work in the same hospital as a junior resident if you manage to secure a seat here. So it is good overall and you have to get your rank based on your merit.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes, there is a mandatory internship for one year for which you get 30,000 per month. It is hectic and long working hours are there. You do work related to patient care. Also, you do useless tasks as well which your senior makes you do which is the frustrating part. But it is better compared to most other colleges. So overall it's okay

Life as a MBBS student at GMCH

What I Liked

Easy access to libraries and reading room ... Also there are computers in library you can work on if you prefer studying online
Sports facility is great with availability of football field , badminton court , lawn tennis , basketball court and regular sports meet .

What I didn’t like

Campus is not very large as it is merged with the hospital site and hence not much place to roam around .. but sure presence of parks around gives a plus point
There are no literary clubs or Student unions which could have been a great help .

Placement Experience:

Placements depend on your NEET PG rank or whichever exam you go through .. studying at GMCH sure does add to your CV. In the internship itself, we start earning about 30k per month. After the degree, it all depends on what you choose to do. Getting a job after MBBS can offer you about 80k-1lakh anywhere .. Doing a post-grad also offers a similar amount or as dependent on the college you get ... For example, colleges in Delhi give you about 1.2 lakh and some other privates give you 60k+

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are in the last year and it is within the hospital associated with the college itself .. the salary during that period is around 30k per month which we receive 3 monthly and since it is a government college, the cases are diverse are great in number, so the learning opportunities are great.
